The kids sat in their new home, wondering whether or not they should do anything.
Camden was sitting on the floor, watching Phoenix and Tesla working on the fireplace, while Sapphire was just staring at the wall thinking deeply about something. Dawn was outside, probably figuring out things that they could scavenge to eat.
"How's the fireplace coming along, guys?" Camden asked as he tilted his head to get a better angle of their work.
"Oh, so far we have gotten where we wanted the stones, we just need to mend them together," Tesla explained, as she balanced the stones.
Camden just mumbled something as he leaned against the wall. He took a glance at Sapphire, seeing how her eyebrows furrowed or how she would occasionally look like she was about to say something, but then stopped.
"What's up, Sapph?" Camden asked a bit concerned about why she was acting that way.
Sapphire shook her head to get out of her deep thoughts, "Oh, I was just thinking about this little house we have." she replied, giving him a small smile.
He just smiled back, knowing that something was still missing, but not wanting to get too involved.
After a while of just hearing the noise of the fireplace, they finally were done. The fireplace itself was very nice, especially with what they had to work with. Although not all of the stones were exactly the same color, it was still an operating fireplace.
Tesla and Phoenix took a step back to admire their work. They could gladly say that they were proud of what they had made.
As everyone was looking at the newly made fireplace, Dawn walked inside the shed, pretty surprised at the new addition to the house.
The first one to notice her presence was Camden, as he got up off of the floor and walked over to the doorway, "Well, did you find anything useful?" he asked.
Dawn nodded, "Yeah, I found some berry bushes, and I thought that we could use some of the leaves as a salad. Not sure if we can find any meat though." she explained.
"Does that mean we are going to have to go vegetarian?" Phoenix questioned, getting into the conversation.
"I mean...technically yes, but unless we can find anything that we could use and not get seriously sick from, then we don't have to be." Dawn reasoned.
The rest of the night, they spend inside the little house, eating some berries that Dawn had managed to find, talking and joking with each other. Once it was late enough, and everybody was beginning to feel sleepy, they all found where they decided they would sleep.
The only spot that they could all sleep and have it be fair would be the floor. Huddled around the fireplace, Phoenix lit a quick spark from his fingertips, as the fireplace was not lit.
They all smiled, about to fall asleep. The first one to fall asleep was Phoenix, who was laying down right near the fireplace, his back near the flame.
Next was Camden, who ended up falling asleep on Dawn's lap.
Then, it was Tesla, who had curled herself in a little ball close to Phoenix.
Finally, it was Sapphire, who fell asleep sprawled out, farther away from the fireplace than everyone else.
Although everyone else was asleep, Dawn stayed awake, not really caring whether or not she would be cranky in the morning.
She stared at the fireplace and smiled, thinking about how she found wonderful people to be friends with.
A small voice echoed off of the walls in her head, as she looked around the room. Once she stared at Sapphire, a small smirk appeared on her lips.
