Chapter Twenty-Three Point Three

Bryan’s POV

I planned to invite Kyle for coffee sakto dumating si Cloeh, ang plan ko sana the two of us only. Fortunately, nag-reason si Cloeh na hindi sila makakasama ni Josh.   Tadhana nga naman. Destiny or sinadyan? Nevermind. Akala ko nga hindi pa siya pumayag but napilit naman din.

Sa car…

“Promise! I said I’ll promise!”  she shouted. She’s dreaming.

“Kyle? Kyle??” I try to wake her up and she’s up. “Kyle you’re dreaming.” Exactly, nasa venue na rin kami.

“Bryan? Where are we?” she asked. Obvious ba? Eh di sa earth. Nope not a nice answer.  Siguro may hang-over pa siya dun sa panaginip niya.

We went out the car.  Parang nagising na talaga siya sa katotohanan.

“Ano bang panaginip mo?” I asked habang papasok kami ng shop.

“Wala, nalimutan ko na.” sagot niya.   Pwede ba yun? Hayaan mo na nga dream niya naman yun eh.

I’m the one who fall in line while naupo na siya sa vacant seat.  Maybe hot chocolate kisses for her nalang.

“Excuse me, two hot chocolate kisses” I ordered. Ginaya ko nalang yung sa kanya total ako naman ang o-order eh. Right?

“In here or to go, sir?” the lady asked. Aba! Alam ang true costumer-ask-question ah. Hindi naman kasi talaga dine in or take out eh. Nevermind ulit.

“In here. And two chocolate mousse cake please” yun na yung final order ko. I pay of course.

After ng five minutes…

“Here sir. Enjoy!”

“Thanks!” at bumalik sa table.

Nakatulog ulit si Kyle.  Maybe she’s cold so I lent her my coat.

“Agh…” nagising ko siya. “Thanks!”

She looks pagod talaga. “Hot choco kisses and mousse cake.” I placed her order.

“Thanks ulit.” She smiled and we start eating.

Ang tahimik namin masyado so I broke it na.

“You look very different tonight.” I started. 

“Mukha na bang tao” joke ba yun?

“Bakit hindi ba dati?” I laughed. “I mean you’re prettier.”

She didn’t wear glasses kasi and no ponytails anymore so lantad ang beauty niya.

Maya-maya, kinuha niya yung salamin niya.

“Hey!” I stopped. “What are you planning to do?”

“Wearing my glasses??” she slowly answered in surprised.

I keep holding her hand at kinuha yung salamin.  “I just see you without glasses again. Sisirain mo pa.”

“Ah…??” I then flushed redden.

Mga ilang minutes ko kaya hawak yung kamay niya.  I saw her blushed, too. “Yung kamay ko?”

I removed my grasp. “Ka-kasi wag ka na magpaka-nerd dyan. You’ll be more beautiful without this.” Hala! Nauutal na ako ah.

Maya-maya… silence na naman.

The next minutes, siya naman yung nakabasag ng katahimikan namin.

“By the way, bakit ka nga pala bumalik dito?” she asked and took a slice of the cake.

“Kasi family business” I answered but not the real answer.
