Adam leads Brielle outside, and they start walking. They walk past the car and Brielle starts to get confused.
"Adam, where-"
"Trust me." He says again, softly tugging on her arm. She follows him and they walk down the road until they come to a little flower stand. Adam gives the man a wink. It's show time, Adam mouths to him. He nods.
"Ah, Brielle!" He says. Brielle laughs and looks at Adam.
"What's going on?" She whispers. The man hands her a beautiful boquet of roses.
"Oh my goodness!" She exclaims. Adam lets go of her hand.
"Please, come with me." The man says. She looks back at Adam.
"What about Adam?" Just as she says this, another man takes Adam and puts him in his car.
"Adam!" Brielle yells. She tries to break free from the man, but she can't.
"Let me go!"
"He's going to be fine, trust me." He says. Trust me, there's that again, she thinks to herself. She gives up and follows the man through a thick patch of trees.
"Here, you'll need this." He gives her a piece of paper with a map drawn on it. She takes it and studies it. She sees where she is, and sees where she needs to go. She turns around, just as the map tells her to do. She takes a right past the flower stand and picks up her roses. She walks for a while until she comes to a lemonade stand. She sees a sign for her: Brielle, you're probably thirsty. She smiles and takes a few swallows and continues walking. She looks at the map, and sees a house on it. She glances around and finds it. She goes up to it and rings the doorbell. A friendly woman answers it.
"Here you go, dear." She says handing Brielle an iPod. A note is written on the back. Hit play and enjoy. I love you. It says in Adam's handwriting.
"Thank you." Brielle says. The woman smiles and slowly closes the door. Brielle turns around and scans the road. She looks back down at the map and sees where she has to go next. She untangles the headphones and puts them in her ears. The stairs creak as she steps down them. She presses the play button and starts down the road again.
"Hi Brielle. I hope you're having fun. If you're not, I'm sorry. It'll be over soon. Anyway, I love you so much. See you soon darling. Enjoy." Adam's voice says to her. All of the sudden, his smooth soft voice beams out again.
"You're the sky that I fell through, and I remember the view whenever I'm holding you..." Brielle's eyes fill with tears and she smiles.
"Chills run down my spine, as our fingers intwine, and your sighs harmonize with mine." His angelic voice calms and comforts her. She continues walking until she comes to a small box on the ground. On the top it reads 'open me!' She slowly takes the lid off, and sees a tiny cardboard house and a heart. Just as she sees it, Adam sings the line "If my heart was a house you'd be home!" Tears stream down her face and she looks at the map again. She blinks a few times, and her eyes finally focus. She's close.
She follows a trail lit by paper lanterns. The ocean is right in front of her. The song ends, and she finds a little box on a post that says 'iPod return!' She places it in the box and follows the path marked in the sand. People jump out from the beach grass and serenade her with love songs. She laughs as they lead her to the X on the map. She stands there for a few minutes while the sun slowly creeps behind the ocean. Adam walks down the beach and smiles at her.
"What's going on?" She laughs. He takes her left hand in his.
"Brielle. My darling Brielle... I love you more than anything in the whole world. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Travel with you. Have children with you. Grow old with you. Love you every single day until I draw my last breath." He says getting down on one knee.
"Oh my goodness!" Brielle says.
"Brielle Johnson, will you marry me?" He asks. Brielle bursts into tears and throws herself at him.
"Yes! A thousand times yes!"
"I love you so much." Adam cries.
"I love you so much more."
"That's not possible." He says, kissing her like he's never kissed her before.
