Summer pushed a silver sequined dress in my face, causing me to step back. "Woah, girlllll," I said in an American accent. "You really considering that?" She beamed and nodded strongly, retreating the dress to her side. I raised an eyebrow at her. "Please tell me you're joking." Summer tried to keep a straight face for as long as she could, but I stared at her until she cracked. She burst out laughing and slid the dress back on the rack. "Thank God." I laughed. "Oi, it wasn't that bad." -"That bad?" I mimicked, pointing over to the hideous dress. "Okay, I admit." Summer paused, glancing down at the shining garment and shuddering. "That's gross." She flipped her hair over her shoulder jokingly and winked at me. "I know you don't like dresses. Don't act like you're comfortable here." She raised both eyebrows at me as I made a shocked facial expression. "You got me." I let my face drop down to it's normal self. "I hate dresses." I looked down at my outfit: black skinny jeans and one of my many hoodies. I looked back up at her and she had clocked the changing rooms in the corner of the rather large shop. "Do you trust me?" She simply asked, looking at me mischievously. I looked at her back awkwardly and simply replied, "I'm not sure." My voice trailed off as she took my hand and sprinted in the direction of the changing rooms. "You have to promise me that you will try on whatever I bring to you." She was already holding my hand tightly, so I had no choice but to shake it. "Deal. Right, wait here." She plonked me down on the bench in one of the stalls and walked off briskly, leaving me sitting in slight shock.
She came back a few minutes later with some tight black jeans, similar to the ones I was wearing, but they had been ripped in several places, a plain white tank top, a leather jacket and some black boots, almost like Dr Martens. I smiled widely at her, wow she knew me so well. She smiled back, knowing what she had done was right. I pulled the white door shut and kicked my shoes off. I changed my trousers and shirt, and I was just tying up the laces on my Docs as I heard a call, "Demi, take your time babe!" -"Shut up," I called back. "I'm coming!" I stood up and pulled on the baggy leather jacket. I pushed myself through the door and sorted out my hair, pulling it into a high ponytail. Summer's jaw dropped a little. "I love it!" I squealed, jumping up and down. "Calm down," Summer said, pressing down on my shoulder, stopping me from jumping. I lowered my eyebrows, almost in an evil stare. "Why did you stop my jumping?" I asked, putting a low voice on. She poked out her tongue at me, letting go of my shoulder. This resulted in me jumping up and down again. "So, how much do you like it?" She asked, a smile plastered on her face. "Not enough if the outfit's over a hundred." I replied, sounding rather childish. "A hundred?" Summer frowned. "Babe, this outfit's too fabulous to be a hundred." She clicked her fingers in a diva-ish fashion and winked. "Anyway. It's on me." She ushered me back into the changing room, where I got changed back into my old clothes.
When I came out, I noticed Summer was wearing a tight white dress with matching heels. Her cheeks were flushed with a deep scarlet as she smiled widely at me, giving me a quick twirl. "What do you think?" She asked, letting out a long breath. "Fabulous!" I said as she patted her hair down. "I think you should get it." She nodded at me and shuffled back into the stall as I held my already chosen clothes over my arm.
After Summer had paid for both of our outfits, we stood awkwardly in the shopping centre, trying to figure out somewhere to go. "Why don't we go to a café somewhere?" I asked after a while. "Fine by me, I'm gasping." Summer replied, licking her lips. "What do you fancy?" I asked another question after we began to stroll down to the nearest Costa. "COFFEEEEE!" she squealed, swinging the bag on her arm around. I laughed gently and then looked and sighed at her. "So childish." I joked, shaking my head. I elbowed her in the arm and she jumped to the side, frowning at me. I rested my head on her shoulder, still walking, and stared up. "You love me." I attempted to say cutely. I pouted and I heard Summer laugh. I stood up straight again and we continued to walk, laughing oddly as we went.
After ordering our coffee's, we sat down at a table opposite each other. I placed my bag down on the floor beside me and rested my elbows on the table, clutching my warm coffee cup. "So, catch up time. What have I missed?" I asked, genuinely intrigued. "Not a lot really. Well, other than what I told you, anyway. I've missed having you around." I took a sip of my coffee and looked up at Summer. "Aw, don't say that. You'll make me feel bad when I go!" I chuckled quietly and took another sip. "It kinda sucks really, only seeing one of my best friends once a year." -"I know. I do miss having you around. But hey, the two weeks are worth it." -"I know, I know. Gotta make the most of it and all that. Blah blah." Summer laughed and took a gulp of her coffee too. "So, you haven't told me what you've been up to!" I looked down at the table for a few seconds before speaking. "Well, one of my best mates, Dylan, turned out to be an alcoholic, the girl I really liked turned out to be a pretty big celebrity, and she left, and Robin got beaten up by the alcoholic." Summer reached forward and rested her hand on my arm. "Sounds pretty tough." -"It is. But the show must go on, I guess." I forced myself to smile. Even thinking about Jessie in the weirdest situations made my heart physically hurt. I ran a hand through my hair before continuing. "Robin's a good guy, that boy. Love him to bits. He'd genuinely take a bullet for anyone... Or a blade for that matter." I paused again, and Summer let go of my arm, retreating it to her lap. I noticed someone walk through the door and my head shot up. "Talk of the devil." I mumbled, before standing up to greet the new encounter. "Robin!" I beamed, walking towards him. I pulled him in for a quick hug before turning slightly towards Summer. "Hey." Robin said simply, his voice sounding slightly lower than the previous meeting that morning. "Surprise seeing you here!" I breathed. "Ah, I know! Just thought I'd come and get a drink before work." -"Your mum's making you start on your first night back in London?" I asked. "Yep, that's mum for you. Who's this?" He motioned towards Summer, who was sitting rather awkwardly at the table. "This is Summer," I introduced, waving my arm towards her. "Summer, this is Robin." Summer stood up and shook his hand gently, making him smile. "Nice to meet you." They said in unison, causing an eruption of flirtatious giggles. "Want me to get you a drink?" I offered him, breaking the awkwardness in the air. Well, it was awkward for me anyway. Robin looked at me and shook his head, releasing Summer's hand. She stood there staring at him, in a daze. "Nah, its okay, I'd best be off anyway. I'll pick up a tea and then I'm going down to the restaurant. You should come down some time!" He smiled lovingly at Summer and waved, walking over to the counter.
"What dyou think, ey?" I asked her, winking.
"Wow," She replied simply, her eyes gleaming. "He's lovely!"
