I laid on the couch watching Martin while Denzel and his mom cooked in the kitchen. I asked to help but they didn't let me because I'm a guest. Denzel's dad went out to meet up with a friend or something.
"Toni!" Denzel's mom called out. "You alright in there? You're quiet!"
"Yes! I'm fine, just feel a little sick but I'm fine!"
My head hurt and I felt like I was gonna throw up at any second.
"Go check on her Denny." I heard her whisper to him.
"Momma she said she was fi-"
"Go!"
They can't whisper. He walked in. "This that show ain't it?"
"Hell yeah!" I smiled. He sat down next to me.
"You alright T?" He fixed the covers on me.
"No, to be honest." I said lowly as I scratched my head.
"What's going on?"
"I've thought about all the things I've done wrong in the past like...five years. Can't believe I slept with him." I shook my head. "I feel like a whore. I knew better but I still got in bed with him."
"Don't worry about it. We all make mistakes." He gave me a crooked smile.
"Not like mine. I slept with basically a pimp I was so fucking stupid! Why? Why did I do that? Watch when he tells everyone. I'm fucking done for."
"Aye, chill out. He fucks lots of girls and don't say shit. What makes you think he'll say your name?"
"I know Rakim Mayers, Denzel." I sighed. "He'll tell if he's close to the girl."
"Bullshit."
"I shit you not." I chuckled then stopped immediately.
"I pray to God nothing happens. We already been through a lot in a year." He hugged me. "Sometimes I feel like the universe hates me."
"Yeah? How?" I asked.
"What do you mean how? You see all this shit happening. We could have done something else."
"Like what?"
"Like going to college, getting a job...all the things I've ever dreamed of has gone to shit. It hurts me but I gotta keep going, I have a family that loves me and would hate to see me die like my brother did."
"We're still young and have plenty of time." I said.
"That's the problem! We don't have time, Toni. We don't!" He grew frustrated.
"How so?" I sat cross legged tuning the TV out to hear what he has to say.
"We need to do everything early. Nothing comes easy and you always need to be patient. My rapping shit my put on pause because of that nigga and the shit we had to sell."
I started to understand him.
A/N: Sorry it's short. I probably will only update every other day because of Finals next week and preparation the rest of this week.
