"You got me?" He asked.
"Yeah." I looked down at my lap.
"Somethings bothering you isn't it? What?" He asked.
"It's nothing, really. Nothing important."
He looked at me sideways. "Tell me. After all we've been though you still can't tell me how you feel."
"I just don't wanna whine and complain."
"It's ok, I won't judge."
"I'm having bad vibes, like someone is here working for Rocky."
"Working for him?" His face went blank and his eyes got wide.
"Yeah...someone's watching us or something."
"Nahhhh...I don't thin-."
"Well someone's obviously doing something Denzel. Ain't no question about it." I kinda raised my voice. I got tired of him denying everything.
"Ok! Something like what since you know it and feel it." He rolled his eyes a tapped his foot impatiently.
"Don't rush me! I don't know everything but I trust my gut, and my gut is telling me that something good isn't happening nigga!"
"Whatever, I ain't paying attention to it." He shrugged.
"I know it." I rolled my eyes and went back to watching Martin until the house phone started ringing.
We both looked at each other trying to figure out which one of if us was going to pick it up."Your house." I said.
He sucked him teeth and got up to pick up the phone.
"Hello!? Who is dis callin' this late...oh..." A long pause.
"Who is it?" I whispered. He didn't answer, just the same blank expression.
"Don't fuckin' bother us...! I don't give a fuck who you are or who sent you, tell them that they need to get the fuck o-" His face froze and he hung the phone up immediately.
"What?" I asked. The look on his face was scaring me just as bad.
He shook his head and said calmly. "Let's just go to sleep, come on."
"Wh-"
"Turn off the TV." He decided to do it himself and smashed the off button and turned off all the lights. We navigated through the dark trying to get to my room.
"Goodnig-" He cut me off again by pulling me into his room. We both got into his bed and sat there awkwardly.
"Denzel, what was that phone call abo-"
"Shhh! Go to sleep ok?"
Words couldn't explain how scared and confused I was. What is all this? Why is he acting weird and why wasn't he telling me about the phone call.
"After all we've been through, you can't tell me?"
