Katniss POV-

I'm napping on the couch when a knock at the door wakes me from my deep sleep. When I sit up to answer the door, I think about the possibility of who it could be.

Peeta is at the bakery, so it wouldn't be him. Not to mention he wouldn't be knocking because he lives here. That is unless he forgot his key. And I think Haymitch still has a key.

Effie got here two days ago because Peeta and I's wedding is tomorrow, but Effie said she wouldn't be back until dinner. If the clock on the side-table is right, it's not even close to being time for dinner.

So, who could it be?

When the person at the door knocks again, I suddenly realize that I still haven't gotten up to answer it.

Walking over to the door I couldn't help but feel like I was forgetting something I had to do today.

I open the door and see my mother sitting on the top of the steps.

"Oh my god," I say. "Mom, I'm so sorry I forgot."

I can't believe I forgot to pick my own mother up from the train station. Effie has been stressing me out so much with all of her excitement and big last minute ideas, you know, just being Effie, that I've been very scattered brained recently.

"Don't worry about it, Katniss. I'm sure you have a lot going on... you're getting married tomorrow," my mom says.

I go over to where my mom is now standing and pull her into my arms for a hug.

"I'm sorry I forgot you," I say with my chin propped up on her shoulder.

We pull away. "It's ok honey," my mom says. "Really."

"Let me get your things and we can head inside," I smile.

My mother follows me inside and I tell her to make herself at home. She smiles and takes a seat on the couch.

"I'm going to put your bag upstairs in your old room," I say.

"Ok, I'll be here," she says.

When I head back downstairs I join her on the couch, letting out a sigh as I relax into the cushions.

"I would give you the tour, but you already know where everything is," I laugh.

She smiles, "Where is everyone?"

"Peeta is at the bakery, Effie is setting things up for tomorrow in the meadow, Haymitch is, well I don't know where he is but he will be over later for dinner," I say.

"What about your other guests?"

"A few of them live here in 12. Just you and Effie are staying with us. Annie, her son, and Johanna are staying in Peeta's old house here in the Victor's Village. Cressida, Pollux, and Beete are staying in an inn someone opened in the district. President Paylor is flying in and will land about an hour before the ceremony. And will leave almost right after. Plutark is going to be traveling with her. I think Caesar might be coming with them too, I wasn't told about his travel plans."

"How are you feeling? Are you excited? Nervous?"

"I would say I'm a little anxious. I don't really know how I'm feeling to be honest," I say truthfully. "Did you really feel any different after? I'm afraid it's going to change me, you know? I love Peeta and I know that isn't going to change, but I'm terrified that once the papers are signed, something is going to click inside and everything is going to be different."

"That fear is normal. I was the same way, but when your father and I fell asleep in each other's arms that night... I couldn't help but think how silly I was to even let it be a concern. Don't let the officialness of it all frighten you. Just remember why you said yes in the first place."
