He watched her and decided against going home just yet after a long shift. He followed her towards her office, he'd seen her wince as she got out of the car. He leaned against the door frame, waiting for her to tell him to leave her alone and when she didn't, he entered and sat on her desk.

"Don't you dare break my desk," she told him, her eyes lighting up momentarily as it creaked under his weight,

"What's happened Connie?" He asked, the concern that laced his voice more evident than he would have liked. He watched how she looked at him and he chose to stay quiet rather than risk using the wrong words and scaring her off,

"What are you doing here?" She asked, her eyes tired and sad,

"I was just leaving but I couldn't help but notice how hard it was for you to get out of your car," he admitted,

"Nothing to worry about... Heavy gym session," she replied, attempting to take off her coat but finding she couldn't do so without her eyes tearing.

"I want to check you over," he told her, both of them laughing as he caught her gaze, "not like that," he grinned and he was relieved as she smiled at him,

"I'm fine,"

He raised an eyebrow, "fine you may be, but it's 26degrees outside and you're wearing black trousers and a long sleeved shirt..."

He watched as she sat down and took the opportunity to crouch beside her, "don't think I haven't noticed how as soon as the sun comes out, so do your legs,"

She laughed again, before wincing, her hands automatically grasping her right side,

"You expect me to believe that's work out induced?"

She inhaled and nodded, "maybe I should have thought of a better story,"

He took her hands gently, "Tell Charlie and Zoe you have a migraine, you can come back to mine,"

She hesitated and he looked at her, "I promise that whatever I see, or whatever I don't see will stay between us..."
