"Connie..." Rita yelled into her office,
Connie looked up at the nurses rude entrance.
"Resus, quickly, it's Jacob..."
Connie ran as quickly as she could to resus, her heart best reducing as she realised that he was okay. When she saw him about to punch the guy that he was holding by his throat she had to move again.
She stood in front of him, ignoring the fear she felt at how angry he looked, "look at me," she asked him, before repeating herself,
"He's not worth it," she told him, "let him go,"
She nodded as Jacob did as she asked, his breathing heavy and deep as his gaze never left her own,
Connie watched as Jacob turned and walked out of the department,
"Do you want me to go?" Rita asked, recognising the fear that had now gone from Connie's face,
"I will," she smiled, "it's not like I'm allowed to do anything clinical yet,"
"The man he had up against the wall best up his wife," Rita nodded and watched as Connie exhaled,
"Leave it with me,"
Rita nodded, wandering what exactly was passing between the nurse and the clinical lead.
She found him sat at the top of the hill on a bench. "I knew you'd be here," as spoke quietly, "I bet you regret showing me your hiding place now,"
She placed a hand gently on his shoulder before kissing his cheek softly. He looked up at her and she moved so she sat beside him.
"I'm sorry I lost my temper," he told her and she shrugged,
"Rita told me why,"
He looked at her, "I hate men who hurt anyone... Especially women," he uttered, "and..."
He looked at her, "it just took me back to finding you on the floor, with all the blood and..." He looked at her, "and I couldn't control myself,"
She slipped up onto his lap and placed her hands on his cheeks, "close your eyes," she told him, watching how his breathing rate quickened and he did as she asked. She felt his arms wrap around her waist, and she smiled as she placed gentle kisses on each of his eyelids, before slowly kissing his cheeks. As her mouth made it's way down his neck he groaned and she smiled against his skin . He couldn't remain passive, it wasn't in his nature and soon his lips were pressing hungrily against hers. The intensity of his kiss should have frightened her, but she knew that with this man she was safe and cared for. Their kiss was unlike anything he'd experienced, she was firm and passionate but something about her was so gentle it stole his breath.
She felt her phone ring in her pocket and pulled away from him, catching her breath and answering the phone.
Jacob for his part pressed his Lips gently against her collar bone and she couldn't help but smirk at him.
"We need to get back, can I trust you not to get into anymore trouble?"
"I won't if you won't," he smiled and she took his outstretched hand gently,
"Sounds like a fair deal to me,"
"Sorry," she smiled as she opened the door that evening. "I don't usually need much sleep... But these days I struggle to keep my eyes open,"
He smiled and wrapped her up in his strong arms, holding her gently to his chest,
"I've missed you this week," he admitted easily,
"I've missed you... I used to love coming home to you," she admitted, "but this place is finally feeling like my own again,"
"I don't suppose you fancy a cuddle and an early night?" He yawned and she nodded,
She slipped into the warm bed beside him, their arms falling around each other without much thought. He lay awake as she slept soundly beside him, he knew he wanted her, and he was almost sure she felt the same. The thought of admitting to her how he felt scared him more than anything he'd experienced.
