"Connie..." Rita uttered, popping her head around Connie's door, "sorry to disturb you, but were mad out here and Dylan can't get this little girl to comply... He said to ask you,"

Connie nodded, "at least it gets me away from this paperwork,"

"Hi sweetheart," Connie smiled, "my names Connie, how are you?"

"My arms a funny shape and it hurts," the girl spoke quietly, "my mum is on her way,"

"Do you know where she is?"

"I'm Her childminder, her mum works in the city," a younger female nodded,

"The thing is, we can wait for you mum to fix your arm, but do you think I can clean your head while we wait for her?"

The young girl nodded slowly, looking nervous as yet another person came into the room. "Don't worry, this is Jacob," Connie smiled, "he's going to hold your hand."

"You look strong," Sophie smiled and Connie winked up at him, "squeeze his hand as tight as you can,"

Jacob mocked being hurt and watched as Connie cleaned and sutured the young girls head wound.

"Will you wait with me until mum gets here?" Sophie asked, "that other doctor was scary,

Jacob and Connie both smiled, "he's okay really... But I agree, he is a bit grumpy," Jacob laughed.

Half an hour later Sophie's mum arrived and the little girl was taking up to orthopaedics to fix her broken arm.

"Connie," Sophie smiled, holding onto her mum and smiling,

"You're nice and pretty and..." She beckoned connie to come closer, "you and Jacob would be a nice couple," Connie laughed, "be good sweetheart,"

Sophie's mum thanked them before taking her daughter up in the direction of the ward.

"Cute kid," Jacob smiled as he stood next to Connie and handed her a cup of coffee

"She reminds me..." Connie begun, before she shook her head, "I need some fresh air,"

Charlie smiled as he watched Connie, Jacob and Rita take a break outside. They each held a coffee and he saw just how carefree Connie looked in their company.

"Hi," she smiled as Charlie came and sat beside them, as he allowed himself to lean back against the bench.

"I though you two were going for a run?"

"Rita distracted us," Connie replied, "why do you want to join us?"

Charlie shook his head, "most definitely not,"

As they watched Jacob and Connie jog out of the hospital grounds Rita smiled,

"She made vows to her husband, yet the two of them..." Rita shrugged, "they would be so good together,"

Charlie nodded, "I believe if things are meant to work out they will,"

"I hope so."

Connie took off her coat and through it at him before she lay down in the grassy park, "that's it, I'm done," she told him. He looked at her and smiled before sitting beside her.

She propped herself up on her elbows and smiled at him,

"Thank you staff nurse masters," she smiled, and he lay down beside her. She rolled so she lay on his muscular chest in the sunshine,

He ran his hand gently through her hair, "you're a good runner," he told her.

"Can't quite keep up with you though can I?" She uttered, "do you know how annoying that is?"

He laughed, "must try harder mrs. Beauchamp."
