Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying the sun. I've decided to write a few more parts of this before I finish it off. Replies loved as always :) Kendal-rose xx

"What's that?" He asked as he watched her reading a letter at the table,

She considered telling him it was wedding preparation, but instead found herself holding the letter out to him,

He fell uncharacteristically silent as he read the letter in front of him.

Connie got up and finished the tea he had begun to make and she knew he was dying to ask her if she was going to go,

"Say something Jacob," she asked him and he shrugged,

"I don't know what to say... He wants you to go and meet him and apologise and..." He shrugged, "I don't know what to say, I thought this was over,"

She placed his tea on the table in front of him and sat opposite him,

"I want to hear what he has to say, why he stabbed you... Why he suddenly developed a temper Id never previously seen..."

He nodded, "and then what..."

"And then I leave and never see him again... Look it will be in the prison, I can say what I need too and know he can't hurt me there,"

He stood up, "I respect whatever desicion you want to make... I'm going for a run..."

She nodded, "right."

Five minutes later he was down stairs in his running clothes and although she knew he needed head space she was sad he hadn't asked her to run with him.

"Jacob," she called out as he turned,

He tucked her hair behind her ear and kissed her, "I love you, I'll see you after your shift this evening,"

She nodded, "I love you."

She came home to find him awake and sat in the living room. She knew he was annoyed and unlike her ex husband he wasn't one to shout or lose his temper.

"I don't expect you to understand," she told him as she sat next to him, "but I want you to know..."

He went to interrupt her and she shook her head, "I want you to know that you are and will always be the love of my life, I meant it when I said I don't love him and I meant it when I said I want to move forwards with you."

"I'm sorry," he told her, "you're right, I don't understand... He hurt you, he hurt me... I will never be able to forget how upset and hurt you were because of him, I will never forget how upset you were before the trial..." He sighed, "I don't want you to go, because I know it'll make you sad again, and you deserve to be happy,"

"I am happy," she told him gently, her fingertips running across his face, "but I need closure and I..."

"Let's go to bed," he told her, "we're both tired and I don't want to talk about this anymore."

"Right," she nodded. He held her close that night, his hands held hers so gently, but she knew he was annoyed. She needed to go, she knew that, and she hoped that he might understand. She exhaled, it would almost be easier if he told her not to go, but then they both knew she hated being told what to do.
