The week they spent together in Cyprus confirmed to her that Jacob Masters really was the person she wanted to spent the rest of her life with. She got dressed, thoughts swimming through her head as she thought about how to tell him just how much he meant to her.
She smiled as she saw him stood in front of her in dark suit trousers and shirt, "you are so beautiful," he told her, and she couldn't help but smile as he pulled her into his chest,
"So are you," she told him as he lead her gently out onto the patio,
"What's this?" She asked, "I thought we were going out?"
He took her hand, "this is the finest tapas from the restaurant we were going to go too,"
"Jacob," she uttered and he kissed her mouth once,
"We know how busy work gets and I thought it'll be the last night in a while we get to spend as just us, I didn't want to share you with anyone tonight,"
She smiled as he pulled out her chair, unable to resist kissing her head as she sat down. "Wine sweet cheeks?"
"Please," she nodded, not taking her eyes from him as he poured her a drink. They ate and drunk and as he returned with another drink and sat down, she stood up and walked over to him. He moved his chair back and she sat on his lap, running the back of her hand across his skin,
"You are the most passionate, kind and frustrating man I've ever met," she told him and as he went to speak she placed her mouth against his. "The first time I met you I knew a one night stand wouldn't have stayed a one night stand," she unbuttoned his shirt slowly, "you make me feel safe and excited...And you make me feel like the most beautiful person in the world..."
He ran his fingers under her dress strap and she smiled, "you saved my life, you made me feel strong and you didn't judge me." She slipped his shirt from his shoulders and pressed soft kisses against his skin, "I love your skin, and your arms and I think you're beautiful," she undid his trousers and he ran his hands through her hair,
"Connie," he breathed,
"You've done so much for me and I will never be able to find the words to tell you how much I appreciate you," she told him, "before you got stabbed you asked me why I would want someone like you and those are just a few of the reasons that I never got the chance to tell you,"
She allowed him to slip her dress up over her head and he exhaled as he saw she wasn't wearing any underwear.
"Bed?" He asked and she shook her head, "I'm not finished here yet."
"We have a plane to catch in six hours," he whispered against her hair. They lay cuddled up on the sofa with a thin blanket covering them, his arm loosely around her shoulders,
"I don't want us to go back to living apart," he told her honestly and she looked up at him,
"Neither do I..."
