He stood by his car two days later as she hopped out of the hospital on a pair of crutches.

"How do you look so glamorous with a cast on your foot?" He asked her, taking her bags from her,

"Don't forget the superglue on my head," she uttered dryly,

He opened the door for her, waiting patiently as she placed the crutches in the back of the car before he got in himself.

"Am I taking you home or to mine?" He asked before they drove off,

"I'm not ready to talk about it yet," she told him and he looked at her,

"That's not what I asked,"

She smiled, "yours... Please," she told him and he rolled his eyes playfully.

She got out of his car and as they got in she noticed shopping bags on the side, "Jacob..."

He shrugged, "I thought you may not want to go into your house for a few days, and I know those hair products probably aren't what you're used too..."

She placed her hands on his chest and kissed him once, before she looked up at him, "why didn't I meet you years ago?" She smiled before his phone beeped on the side and she saw it was a messages from Carla,

"Me and Carla are finished," he told her, "and I don't want to talk about it yet,"

She nodded, before kissing him once again, "go and lie down," he told her, ushering her through into the living room, "I'll join you once I've made some tea."

Falling asleep with him was something she'd become used to she realised as he flicked through the tv channels. He sighed as he watched her, they were playing out a funny dance between them and he wasn't quite sure where he stood.

He came home a few days later to see Connie sat outside in the garden. He sat beside her and took her hand,

"I think I'm ready to talk," she told him and he nodded, "I was hoping you'd say that,"
