Alexis had just push through the cafeteria door when she saw Jake running up to her.
'Where the hell have you been? You scared me to death!' he hugged her. She held tight when he began pulling away. She needed him right now, wanted the comfort. But it wasn't his arm she wanted around her. Was she stupid? He had used her and she still wanted him. She had been hiding in the bathroom from morning, only the constant growling of her stomach made her came out of the bathroom.
'Are you okay? What happen?' Jake asked brushing her hair with his hand.
Could she tell him that Lucas only used her for sex? No he will probably fight him and get suspended. 'I'm fine, don't worry about it.' She was about to walk away from him when he must have seen her face. She knew what he saw; her eyes were swollen and red from all the crying.
'What happen?'
Sighing she grabbed his shades off his head a put it on 'Nothing, now come on. I'm starving.' He was about to say something but she walked off before he could. She really was hungry, she hadn't eaten much this morning and she had thrown up what she did eat. She could feel eyes on her and hear them whispering but she ignored them.
Collecting a sandwich she looked for an empty table. Finding one in the corner, far away from Lucas she sat down. Everyone was staring at her like she was some kind of a freak. With her eyes hidden behind her shades she took a peak at Lucas. She knew she was just torturing herself but she couldn't help it. And before she knew it tears spill from her eyes at the sight of him.
She still can't believe that this happen to her. The one time she had open herself up to someone; it broke her worse than anything else ever had. She could take the beating from her step dad any day that pain didn't come even close the pain she was feeling now. A sob broke from her and she had to stop it with her hand.
Funny, she didn't think she had any more tears left to cry. She felt so empty and all she wanted was to just leave. How was she to stand the sight of him without breaking down? Every day she will have to look at him knowing she can never touch him again, kiss him.
She got up from her table and hurried for the exit. But before she could she smashed into someone and there tray crashed into her chest 'I'm sorry...I wasn't looking.' She was but the tears were blurring her vision.
'Hey you're Lucas' whore right? You think I can get some of that ass?' A guy said to her and before she could say or do anything Jake was beside her punching the guy in his face.
Jake rubbed his hand with a grimace before turning his angry and confused face at her 'What the hell is going on between you and Lucas?' Everyone was looking at her as Jake shouted at her. It felt like the walls were closing in on her and she couldn't breathe. Sobs wracked her frame and she was about to run when Jake grabbed her hand. 'Tell me!'
'He left me okay? He broke up with me this morning. Lucas didn't want me anymore.' She shouted frustrated 'He got what he wanted and then he dumped me,' she whispered the last part, knowing Jake couldn't hear her. Saying it out loud only made it more real. 'Oh God, I can't breathe.' she began hyperventilating.
He let go of her and took a step back, she guessed he was shocked. Yeah, she understood perfectly. Taking that opportunity she ran from the cafeteria and went outside for some air.
After half hour passed she manages to stop her flow of tears and regain control of her breathing. She went back inside the school to her locker. She had decided to leave early and go to the diner. It would be good for her to keep busy for the rest of the day. After telling Jake goodbye and reassuring him that she was fine she left for the diner.
