Triplets! The one little word kept going around in his head and he still can't believe it. They had actually created 3 babies. His kind never has more than one, only a selected few had twins.
He ran his hands through his hair in frustration. Alexis had gone to the doctor without him for the first ultrasound. It pissed him off that she didn't have the decency to at least tell him about it. He deserved to go with her, to find out how many babies he would be having. But nooo she had to go by herself. They were his babies too and he should have been there.
He didn't want to miss anything in his child's...well children's life. He didn't care how sudden everything was or how young him and Alexis were he wanted to be there every step of the way. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard Alexis scream.
'LUCAS!!'
He jumped in panic when he heard Alexis terrified cry and he immediately ran to her. His heart was beating a thousand miles per hour and panic was threatening to take him over. Oh God he prayed that nothing was wrong with her and their babies. When he got to the cafeteria building he saw her shaking next to a building. He quickly looked her over to make sure she wasn't hurt physically.
'I don't know what's was happening. My belly was cramped and I was nauseous but...but I'm feeling better now.' Alexis said as she wipes the tears from her eyes as she stared up at him in confusion.
He felt a little relieved that she was feeling okay. She must have seen his need for reassurance because she gave him a smile that brightens his day. It has been so long since he has seen it that all he could do was stare.
And then it was gone.
He might have screwed up again 'Look I wasn't angry at you, well I kind of was. You're having my baby and I would like to be there at every step of the way.'
'If you hadn't broken up with me you would have. You would have been there when I first took the test and saw that it was positive. You would have been there to hear the babies’ first heartbeats and to see them on the screen. If you hadn't left me, you would have been there.'
'Are you trying to torture me because that is pretty low. I want to tell you why I left you but you won't give me the fucking chance!' He yelled at her but immediately regretted it when she burst into tears and it kind of irritated him 'Are you going to cry every time we fight or I yell at you?!'
'What the hell are you doing?' He heard Luke yelled from behind him. He turned pissed off to see him and Carlos 'Don't you have the proper sense to know that you cannot yell at a pregnant lady?' He continued and pushed him away from Alexis.
Carlos went and pick her up off the ground and he had to watch her snuggled and bury her face in his chest. It incensed him. How dare he touch his mate? 'Put her down! She's mine!' Carlos only smirked at him and he became livid. He stalked over to him with every intention of ripping his head off before he felt a strong arm on his chest stopping his movement. 'Get out of my way Luke!'
'I'm afraid I can't do that. We were sent here to protect her even if it's from her mate,' he said too low for Alexis to hear.
'Do you think I'm going to hurt her?! She's mine and I want her! Now!'
'Go away Lucas.' he stopped when he heard her called out. Just fucking great. Guilt was threatening to pull him down and he sighed with regret. The hand on his shoulder disappeared and he moved slowly forward. Tears were still running from her eyes but slowly and lighter now.
'I'm sorry okay, for everything.' He should have expected she was going to be difficult. She turned her face into Carlos' chest and he had to take a deep breath to control his wolf. 'The fucking asshole. TAKE HER FROM HIM! SHE IS MINE!' His wolf was beyond pissed but he kept control.
