New Years Eve crept around, not a surprise to Dan. He had known it would come, and together they celebrated the new year.

Dan patted Phil on the back as he fell asleep, "You coming to bed?"

Phil groaned, "I don't want to."

Dan reached down and wedged his arms underneath Phil, carrying him slowly towards the room, "I think you need to lay off the Pocky."

Phil smirked in his sleepy state and pulled the covers up to his chin. His arms and legs stretched out on Dan's bed, taking over the bed itself. Sighing, Dan vowed not to disturb him and took a throw from the closet, heading to the couch.

The next week, school started again and the boys were able to start up their studies again. Phil's birthday came and went, and he was eighteen. Soon, February and March had ended and April began.

"Phil, have you seen my laptop?" Dan called from the bedroom. Clothes littered the floor and Dan trudged through them. "We really need to tidy up in here."

Black hair hung in Phil's face as he sat hunched over in a chair. He was sat in the living room, one hand supporting his head while the other wrote away at his homework sleepily.

"No, Dan. I haven't seen it. I'll tidy it while you work in the office, then we can go out to dinner and come home, okay? School tomorrow is going to be insanely difficult with all these tests," Phil yawned.

Dan walked in and into the kitchen, "Okay, I'm just going to get a snack first. I didn't eat at school."

"Alright," Phil agreed, solving an equation on the side of his paper.

Dan munched on crisps, heading back to the bedroom to change. When he reappeared, he was dressed in a smart shirt and slacks, heading down to the office, "I've got a client coming in today to see the big flat down the hall."

"Ah

"Ah. I hope you can sell it, we'll get a percentage, remember? Just a bit, but enough to last us until June when our agreement is up," Phil said.

Dan nodded, "Mmhmm. I'll see you later, I'm downstairs if you need me. Love you."

"Love you, too!" Phil called, smiling. The door shut and he was alone again. Lately, he had been staying home to study while Dan went to cover the work in the office. It wasn't that Phil didn't want to work, he didn't mind, really. He just needed to study even harder as exams approached.

He went to the bathroom, had a wee, then went to wash his hands and looked up into the mirror. He hadn't slept in two days, and he'd gone through school that day in sweats. Phil was soaked in sweat. The work made him think hard, and when he couldn't remember he paced the flat until he thought of it. The black hair on his head was stringy, greased down, and his face was hidden under a coat of dark stubble.

Sighing, he washed his hands, then splashed cold water into his face. He lifted a towel to his face, dabbing it dry.

Returning to his work, he began to tackle his English work. While it went by in a flash, he was tired enough to fall asleep on the pile of papers.
