Phil stared in awe at the pages. Each one was full of colour, and it appeared that in the four months Dan had drawn, there were four stages of artwork.

The first quarter was full of innocent drawings, all in pastels and with flower crowns. The second was entirely of Phil blushing and hiding his face, brightly coloured in neon. But the third quarter, however, had many photos of Dan with Phil. They were holding hands, most of the pictures in neutral colours.

The last section hit Phil in the heart. Every picture was of Phil in red, smiling, and staring at his ring. In a few, he held a baby.

Then he found it.

Phil picked up one piece of Dan's art and stared at it with tears welling in his eyes. Dan had drawn a full family portrait.

Phil sat on the edge of the couch, holding one baby while watching two others play with a toy on the floor. Dan, however, was watching Phil with what many would call the "heart eyes."

Phil's heart sank. Putting the picture back down, he noticed the note on the cover.

"Phil,
I know how much this has meant to you... and now you see why I wouldn't show you all those times. You mean the world to me, but I understand if you hate me or don't want to be a thing anymore... I plan to propose, and I just... I wanted to wait. It was so embarrassing. But I love you, Phil.

I'm sorry, and I love you,
Dan."

Phil crawled into the bed and frowned. He longed for Dan.

After thinking, he pulled out mobile. He procrastinated, then dialed Dan's number.

This number has been disconnected.

Phil felt his eyes go wide and frowned.

Time to film a video.
