"I vote we hightail it outta here!" Jenny jerked a thumb towards the door. "Anyone else?"
I looked at Shayla. "What about our parents? Where are they? And what happened to Kazoo Town or whatever it's called?" I had so many questions, but not enough answers. It was a tad bit irritating, not knowing much about a situation.
"I don't know, but we should probably leave," Sydney said, looking out through a window. "My gut tells me it's only downhill from here if we stay. As much as I'd like to tell my dad where we are, I don't think we're safe."
Shayla had a slightly worried expression, and I imagined I did as well. "So, where're we going to go? It's not like we can just pop into some hotel and ask to sleep in the lobby for the night. This place has monsters quite literally around every corner. And I'll pass on another pirate run-in."
After a short pause, Jenny raised her hand slightly. "We could go down to the Underworld? I've virtually got VIP access down there."
I was about to snap out a retort, but as I thought over the idea, the more it made sense. We would be safer down there, even if only a little bit.
"Let's say we did do that," I said, folding my arms. "Where would the closest entrance to the Godly Graveyard be located? Hypothetically speaking."
"There's an entrance in Mississippi," Jenny replied smugly. "And I'm your ticket in."

The Underworld was extremely lacking in vibrance. Unless, of course, you count the vivid displays of gloom and the excessive amount of shadows. It was truly spectacular how bland it really was compared to above.
We followed Jenny down long winding paths towards the House of Hades (only because to us, this place was the equivalent of the Labyrinth). We passed the Fields of Punishment, and it was a horrific sight. There were people boiling in oil, sitting in pools of lava, standing in fire, all sorts of stuff. Think of a painful and inhumane way to die; someone was forced to carry that out on repeat for time and all eternity. I'm almost positive I saw someone forced to sprint at a 400 meter pace endlessly around a track.
I turned to look at the path rather than the punished spirits. "Well, this is a real cheerful place." The obvious sarcasm in my words was almost tangible. I started twirling my pencil over my knuckles out of habit.
After what felt like two more hours, we ended up by the Judgement Pavilion, and just beyond that was the Main Gates, guarded by Cerberus. I realized that Jenny had managed to get us in right ahead of the Fields of Punishment, which made me mad due to the extra walking time, but I was grateful that we didn't actually land in the Fields. We hardly spoke with each other, probably still exhausted from the back-to-back pirate and monster attacks.
After a bit we passed by the Fields of Asphodel and Elysium. Asphodel looked like it was full of zombie spirits, wandering aimlessly throughout the wide expanse of nothingness. Elysium, however, with the Isles of the Blessed in the center, looked like the people were having an eternal party; it was the literal opposite of the thoughtless spirits with quite literally no life on the other side of the path.
At a fork in the trail we went down the left side. The way Jenny acted about it was like the right side didn't even exist.
"What's down that way?" Shayla asked, pointing to the direction we didn't go.
"Tartarus," Jenny replied without missing a beat. I shuddered, realizing the feeling of being followed probably was spirits or something. Not that it made me feel any better.
Next thing I knew, I was standing in Hades's throne room. It was dark and cavernous, and I thought I could feel the depression in the air. Jenny had to give an extremely long explanation as to why we had shown up in here. At first, it'd looked like we were going to be thrown out and disintegrated for disturbing her father. Thankfully, Jenny presented our case well, and we were all still in one piece.
