Shayla

"You do?" I said, turning to Sydney. "Who?"

"Malcolm Pace!" Sydney said. I immediately knew she was right. The more I thought about it, I wasn't sure how I had missed it before.

She stayed up past curfew with him. Of course, Sydney had always been a bit rebellious, but from what I remembered, Malcom wasn't. At all.

"But that's not the best part, is it?" I said, a mischievous look in my eye. She looked at me with confusion before I continued.

"He likes her back. We both know it. Oh, I feel a ship forming!" I squealed; Sydney only laughed beside me, and NC shook his head.

NC suggested that me and Sydney should go to the cabins and help Jenny and Courtney. I nodded and began to walk towards the cabins. Sydney ran up next to me, looking tense. I brushed it off and we knocked on the door of the Cabin One.

"Courtney? Jenny? Do you guys need help?" Sydney called, pressing her ear to the door to hear them better.

"MY ZIPPER IS STUCK!" Courtney wailed. Jenny was groaning and muttering long strings of curse words in Greek that I would rather not repeat. Sydney giggled and called inside again.

"Can we come in? It's just me and Shayla," she said loudly. Jenny and Courtney only screeched, so we took that as our cue to come inside. We carefully stepped in and closed the door behind us, turning to face them.

Jenny was standing in the corner, spraying her hair rapidly with a squirt gun. She didn't seem too happy about her unnaturally straight hair and was trying to return her curls. The water only rolled off her head; her hair stayed straight and shiny.

Courtney was throwing a fit, trying to literally tear her dress off of her body. She clawed at the zipper, but it wouldn't budge. Groaning, she walked over to Jenny and sprayed her face with her spray bottle, trying to get her makeup to come off. The water only rolled down her face as if she were plastic and splashed onto the ground.

"Help me," Courtney whimpered as Sydney ran to help Jenny. Cracking my knuckles, I walked towards her. After what seemed like ages, the zipper still wouldn't budge. Jenny was having the same problem on the other side of the room, looking like she was ready to kill someone.

"Oh!" I exclaimed, digging around in my pockets. Courtney gave me a confused look as I frantically patted down my pockets.

Grinning, I extracted Whirlpool from my back pocket and uncapped it. The pen sprang into a Celestial Bronze sword as I smiled at Courtney like an idiot.

"Hold still," I instructed her. She nervously turned around and I carefully cut a long slit down the back of the dress. Courtney grabbed it to keep it up as I handed her a set of clothes.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Courtney cheered, running to hide behind a curtain we had put up earlier so she could change.

"Kelp Face! Come do that thing!" Sydney yelled from across the room. I walked over to them, cut Jenny's dress, and handed her some clothes. She ran behind the curtain as Courtney emerged.

"You are a lifesaver," Courtney sighed as Jenny walked out from behind the curtain, nodding in agreement.

"I try," I said with a wink. Sydney giggled and I grinned.

There was a pound on the door, and we all jumped. Courtney and Jenny ran to hide behind the curtain again, and Sydney peeked through the curtains.

"It's only NC!" Sydney called, and two sighs of relief came from behind the curtain. I opened the door and rushed NC in. It appeared that I closed it just in time. Crowds of boys began swarming around the door as I slammed it shut, and to my horror, I spotted Connor near the front of the group. I felt a pang in my chest and slammed the door shut.
