Your P.O.V.

I sighed loudly, sprawling back on my bed. Artist after artist had been coming in and out of my bedroom, but none of them were right for me.

My mother offered a large sum of money for the most talented artist to paint me. Of course, I was not the most comfortable with sitting in front of some stranger for hours while they stared at me, but I could not disobey my mom.

She was the queen, after all.

So, along with my best maiden Dinah, we had been looking at the works of almost every artist near our kingdom, none of them to our tastes.

In all honesty, they all were horrendous.

"Oh! It completely slipped my mind. Y/N, there is one more Renaissance painter, Lauren. She's a good friend of mine, resides in a little cottage not far from me. You have met her before. She's a beautiful artist, as well as a beautiful girl." The blonde nudged me lightly, eyebrows raising up at down.

"Dinah Jane, are you joking? I despise that girl. Do you remember what she gave me at my 16th year ball?"

The girl laughed, adjusting the long, white dress that clung to her curvy frame. Her curly hair fell down her back in waves, smiling bright as ever.

"She clearly admires you, Y/N. You should be flattered."

This Lauren, she had the nerve to give me a drawing of myself.

Naked.

I had to hide it from my family the rest of the night, the black haired girl staring at me with a smug smirk on her annoyingly pretty face for the remainder of the night.

I hated her.

"I can send a letter for you, question if she would like to take the offer."

I shook my head, sitting up from my bed at the news. "No need. I can visit myself. Now, rather. Mother wanted the painting by tomorrow evening."

Despite my feelings towards the girl, I completely trusted Dinah's judgement. If she says she is as good a painter, she must be.

Besides, I really had no other choice; my options were lessening by the minute.

"Fetch my carriage, will you?"

Nodding, the tall girl made her way down the stairs and outside, telling my driver kindly to bring my ride.

Standing up fully, I adjusted my dress, freshening myself before meeting the girl by my mode of transport.
