(Taylor's POV)
It's been a couple of days since the ball now and Tim and I have become pretty good friends. I've only chatted with him so far but I'll be meeting him later this afternoon.
The past few days I have also been slowly trying to convince my mum to let me go to Kevin's family beach house with my friends over the weekend, so far I've had no luck. My mum is very persistent and she still thinks I'm going to get drunk and do something stupid or even worse get knocked up!
I've thought about maybe lying to her by saying Harry won't be joining us but that would create massive problems if she had to find out the truth. Then again I'm not even sure if she's saying no because of Harry or because of the other guys as well, either way she should have nothing to worry about.
Emma wouldn't be joining us because she's leaving with her family for a summer holiday out of town later this afternoon and won't return for a week for sure. This makes things worse because if I don't go I'll be ruining it for Harry as well as he doesn't want to be a fifth wheel and won't be going if I don't. Such news is ironic when it comes from someone who has been ignoring me for nearly a week now. He won't return my texts or my calls and when he briefly joined us at the ball he left before I even got to say hi. I don't get why he has to be so rude. I get it that he just wants to be friends with me, there's no need for him to ignore me. It's a silly crush and I'll get over it. End of story! Right?
I suddenly hear my mum shouting out for me from downstairs.
''What did you say?'' I yelled back from outside my bedroom door.
''Your friend is here.'' She answered.
''Oh.'' I gasped.
I strolled quickly down the stairs to find Tim waiting in the living area with mum. I swiftly gave her a kiss goodbye and pulled Tim out of there before she starts pin pointing everything she dislikes about him.
''I'm sorry about that.'' I apologized. As I stepped outside I felt the dense summer heat engulf me.
''It's okay.'' He replied with a smile.
Tim and I went to the fun park next to the peer. We rode a few rides including this big one I had been utterly terrified of for years. I was having lots of fun and I could tell that today Tim was more comfortable around me than he was before. After the fun park we stopped at a café and shared some cheesy fries and a burger.
I was having an amazing day with Tim but there was something on my mind that I just couldn't seem to ignore. What if Tim wanted to be more than friends? He had been chatting with me a lot and he asked me to go out. I just wasn't sure if this was a date or not. I don't want it to be but maybe he thinks it is. Then again Tim did say he liked this girl at the ball so he probably just wants to be friends and I'm probably just overthinking it.
Tim walked me home at about 6 in the afternoon. We were both absolutely exhausted and I simply couldn't wait to lay down with my laptop, watch some videos and pass out.
''How was your day sweetie?'' mum asked as I walked into the living room. She was filing some bills and other medical papers she had around.
''It was good but I'm so exhausted now.'' I replied tossing my bag at the side and falling onto the couch.
''I like your new friend. He seems way better than that Harry kid.''
''You haven't even talked to Harry mum.'' I annoyingly pointed out as I stretched my legs.
''Yes I have. I met his mum last time. I talked to the kid and I certainly did not enjoy his attitude.'' She clarified.
I rolled my eyes to her response. Not only was the trip tiring but so was she.
