Harry’s POV
‘’Harry darling, come here I need your help with dad’s clothes!’’ mum yelled from downstairs. We were packing our things as we were leaving the next day. The trucks had already taken the furniture away, so all our clothes and other belongings where spread out on the floor, the house felt empty, it made me sad, leaving it behind like this to go back to the old one.
‘’coming mum’’ I called back. I helped pack up. Once everything was in our suitcases we waited for dad to come back from his last day at work. When he got back he placed our suitcases in the back of the car. We were going to spend the night at granny’s considering we had nowhere to sleep on other than the hardwood floor. Once I was in the car, I looked back at the house I spent half my life in, leaving the heighbourhood was a breath of fresh air, actually leaving the country was a breath of fresh air, I never wanted to come here in the first place but when dad’s father, Papa John passed away, the family went through a rough patch and we moved here in the blink of an eye. Now that 9 years have passed, my father got a big promotion back in America and we decided to move back to our old house, which still belonged to us after all these years.
I hated England, I hated the weather, the people, the school, the way everyone thought they were better than me, I was always the new kid, the one they picked on for having curly hair. Now that I’m in my teens, it was harder, not having any friends, getting called out names. I spent the years between the age of 8 and 12 crying in my room all day, feeling low about myself, then I realised I had to step up, I grew walls infront of me so high, no one could hurt me, everyone was scared of me, thinking I’m a bully, when I truly was the one getting bullied.
I slipped in my headphones and switched on my ipod, I stared out the window through the whole ride to grandma’s, in fact when I got out of the car I felt quite dizzy.

‘’so are you excited to see anyone back home?’’ grandma asked with a mouth full of spaggetthi, she threw saliva all over my side of the table. Disgusting. Can’t she just fix those fake teeth of hers?!
‘’maybe my old school friends, not sure, probably won’t recognize them anyway!’’ I shrugged.
‘’Andrea said Taylor was excited to see you!’’ mum said with a smile.
‘’that’s nonsense mum!’’
‘’well, she didn’t exactly say it like that but Andrea said it looked like she was happy to see you’’ she told me.
‘’see mum, now that’s different!’’
‘’who’s this Taylor we’re talking about? Was he your best friend?’’ granny asked.
‘’she’’ I blurted out correcting her.
‘’oh I see’’ grandma said with a smile.
‘’harry had the biggest crush on her, didn’t you Harry?’’ mum asked teasing me.
‘’mum I said no, I didn’t have a crush on her!’’ I defended.
‘’I know darling, calm down I was just teasing you a little!’’ mum replied.
‘’well, stop, haven’t I’ve been teased enough! I can’t wait to get out of this stupid country once and for all’’ I shouted, getting up of my chair and heading to the spare bedroom.
‘’Harry, I didn’t mean it that way!’’ mum shouted.
I slammed the door shut. I heard mum talk to grandma.
‘’that boy worries me a lot’’ mum sighed.
‘’sweetie don’t take it too hard on yourself, he’s 16, you know how they are at that age, I remember your dad used to fight with me over the littlest things all the time, he’ll get out of it, I promise’’ she reassured her.
‘’I hope so Maria, I really do, I want him to be happy again, like before, maybe this move will do better for him’’ she said to granny.
‘’it will dear, it will.....’’

The next day we flew back to America, the ride was long and tiring but it was worth it, nothing felt better than when I felt the plane’s wheels hit the ground, mum was sleeping, I had to wake her up, her face was pale, she had a hard flight, the plane made her head hurt.
We went to our house with a taxi, the neighboor hood looked the same, just like I had remembered it, there were more shops now, we passed the park and drove to our house. I kept starring at Taylor’s house next door, it looked the same as well, though it had more flowers on the front side of it which made it look colourful and nicer than all the other houses.
I didn’t leave the house for about 3 days, I helped pack in and move the furniture with dad and a few of his old freinds that came to give a helping hand. The house was mostly ready other than a few cleaning mum had to do. I felt like I was about to scream.
‘’mum please take me out, anywhere I don’t care!’’ I begged her. I couldn’t resist staying inside any longer.
‘’Harry, you’re 16, you don’t need your mum to take you out!’’
‘’so I’ll go by myself?’’ I asked feeling annoyed.
‘’go for a bike ride, most boys go alone riding bikes’’ she said.
‘’great idea’’ I said. I ran upstairs and put on a hoodie. It was summer but it was about 6 in the afternoon and the weather was quite windy that day. Better safe than sorry I thought.
I took my bike out of the garage and set off, I didn’t have a destination, I just wanted to look around for a while.
