Taylor’s POV

‘’Taylor!’’ mum shouted from downstairs.

‘’what? Mum!’’ I shouted back so she could hear me.

‘’can you please go buy some milk from the grocer, we’re out and you know how keen you kids are on tea’’

‘’sure thing’’

I put on a pair of red keds and ran downstairs. Mum gave me a couple of dollars and I set off. I loved going shopping alone, yeah, it took me like 10 minutes only but it still felt nice. Walking alone feeling independent for once without having Selena and Emma nagging on me the whole time. No, not Selena, she was great, I meant Emma, who was more of a frenemy than a friend. I’m sure she thought we were great  friends, we had good times together, it’s just that most of the time I felt like she wanted to control my life, always calling and making me feel bad about not being in the mood to do things like go out even when I’m dead tired or not in the mood. Stuff like that.

I  went to Jane’s grocer in the middle of town, I bought milk and 2 chocolate bars for me and Austin. I wanted to get one for me but Austin would not let me forget it if I didn’t get one for him too and I personally think that buying two of the same kind of candy when you have a brother or sister is one of the most important thing ever. I set off but as I was about to turn round the corner I was met by a boy riding on a bike, he was so close to me now that he didn’t even have enough time to break and we eneded up crashing into each other, thankfully he fell off the bike just before it could hurt me or him. We fell right at the corner of the side walk.

‘’fuck’’ he groaned. He seemed shocked and kind of hurt to be honest. ‘’you should really watch were you’re going you know!’’ he continued harshly.

‘’oh, I’m sorry this is my fault now!’’ I replied feeling annoyed. ‘’you’re the one riding a bike down the street’’

‘’so??’’ he asked.

‘’you shouldn’t cycle that fast when you know people are around you’’ I complained.

‘’oh, whatever’’ he shrugged pushing himself up from the ground. I did the same. Then I looked at the boy standing in front of me, he was now wiping away the white dirt on his black jeans, mostly the area where there are his knees.

‘’what are you looking at?’’ he huffed moving his head upwards and meeting my eyes. Once our eyes met I felt a sudden pain in my stomach.

‘’nothing’’ I replied harshly.

‘’you seem oddly familiar’’ he blurted out.

‘’uhm.... I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before’’

‘’no, I’m not kidding okay, you seem  really familiar’’ he continued.

‘’look, I don’t talk to guys like you, okay!’’ I said.

He let out a little laugh. ‘’what’s that’s supposed to mean?’’

‘’I don’t know I just don’t’’ I shrugged.

‘’girl, you’re seriously crazy and also wasting my time’’ he said looking at his phone to check the time.

‘’well, sorry maybe next time you should have been more cautious when riding a bike!’’ I spat and turned around to walk away from this jerk.

‘’you have dirt on your shorts’’ he yelled. I rolled my eyes and wiped my shorts away from the white dirty stuff I picked from the sidewalk. Thankfully he said I had dirt on my shorts and not on my butt cause that would have been emberrassing for all the people on the sidewalk to hear.

‘’nice talking’’ he yelled sarcastically.

This time I turn around and give him a smug look ‘’I don’t give a damn!’’ I said turning back around and walking away.

Once I got home I put the milk and chocolate bar in the fridge.

‘’what took you so long?’’ mum asked as she walked to the kitchen, starting to immediately make my brother tea.

‘’stupid jerk hit me with a bike’’ I said annoyance in my tone.

‘’are you okay!’’ mum asked suddenly with a look of worry on her face.

‘’it’s fine mum, I didn’t get hurt’’ I said, making her face get back to normal again.

‘’I don’t understand why we don’t have a bike lane already’’ mum complained but to be honest I really wasn’t in the mood to hear her talk about bike lanes and sidewalks.

Then I remembered what the boy on the bike told me. ‘’you look familiar’’ . how was that even possible? I mean he looked familiar too, thinking about it now, it feels like I’ve seen him before, it wasn’t his appearance that led to this though. Yet somehow when our eyes met I felt like they took me to another world, another dimension in a slight second, I must be going crazy I thought, I should really slap myself in the face, I joked to myself while mum kept talking about the stupid bike lanes.

Harry’s POV

I cycled slower this time, I seriously didn't want to run into any one again, it was slightly embarrassing but mostly annoying when I ran into that girl, she didn’t seem  happy about it. But it was true, about what I said to her, that she looked awfully familiar, I wasn’t lying but there was a 99 percent chance she thought I was trying to make fun of her or something. It was crazy but somehow she just spoke to me, it’s like I had seen that figure once before, I just don’t know when. I haven’t been in this town for so long,  a bunch of new people had to be living around here. The sun was starting to set and the wind began to blow harshly, I thought I’d better get home soon before it got dark and I end up finding it hard to get back home.

Thankfully I arrived home before the sun disappeard. I was greeted by a happy mother.

‘’uhm, Hey mum... what’s up?’’ I asked as I entered the living room.

‘’hey darling!’’ she said, ‘’guess who I just got off the phone with?’’ she continued.

‘’the Pope’’ I joked. She rolled her eyes to my response.

‘’no!’’ she denied playfully ‘’the neighbours next door’’.

‘’The Swift’s?’’ I asked surprised.

‘’yeah, Andrea called me and asked us to join them for dinner tomorrow’’ she said happily.

‘’oh, shit!’’ I blurted out.

‘’what’s wrong?’’ mum asked raising an eyebrow.

‘’nothing mum.... nothing’’ I murmured.

She shrugged and turned back to the t.v as I slowly walk up to my room. Then I layed on the bed and turned on my laptop.

Why did we have to join them for dinner?  Doesn’t mum know how scared I am of meeting Taylor again! I’m going to screw it up for sure. Also she ain’t going to like the way I grew up to be. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have zero friends this summer, just like every other one I guess....
