I woke up the next morning with a headache. I could hear the noise of people chattering downstairs. I rolled my eyes and stuffed my face into the pillow as I slowly placed all my energy into reaching out and grabbing hold of my phone. It was about 10 in the morning and I was suddenly surprised I didn't sleep in later considering the time I went to sleep the night before. I slowly stretched up and gently placed my feet on the ground, pushing myself upwards and walking out the door and into the bathroom. I did the usual things before I headed downstairs. Ignoring everyone in my way I made some tea, then took a seat around the kitchen table next to Kevin and Selena.

''How was last night?'' asked Selena.

''What do you mean?'' I asked confused.

''I just stayed here.'' I continued as I rubbed my heavy eyes.

''Oh.'' She answered.

''Nothing interesting then?'' she added.

''No, okay!'' I hissed. I'm not one for conversation when I wake up

I got up from around the table and headed to the couch.

''So tonight there's going to be a beach party. It's like an annual thing here. You guys coming right?'' asked Kevin.

''Yeah sure.'' I smiled.

''Is Tim coming?'' he asked.

''Oh, I forgot.'' I answered suddenly surprised. I had forgotten I invited him in the first place.

''You forgot?'' asked Kevin with a chuckle.

''I thought you two were like dating or something.'' he continued saying.

''What?'' I screamed with embarrassment.

''No! Definitely not!'' I denied.

''Okay then.'' He answered with confusion as he got up and placed his bowl in the sink.

''Well I'm going upstairs for a while before we go swim.'' He said before he started walking up the stairs.

''Hey wait for me!'' I shouted following him, nearly spilling my tea.

I stumbled up the stairs after him hurriedly.

''Hey Kev!'' I whispered grabbing his shoulder, stopping him in his tracks.

''Yeah?'' he asked turning around to face me.

''Can I talk to you for a second please?'' I pleaded.

''Yeah sure.''

I dragged him into my room and closed the door. He took a seat on the bed and waited for my response.

''This whole Tim thing. Well I thought we were friends, but then he tried to kiss me and I kind of backed away awkwardly and just left.'' I explained quickly as I took a seat next to him.

''Oh and now he's coming here tonight to hang out with you?'' he asked with a chuckle.

''Yes. Ugh!'' I huffed burying my face into my one empty hand.

''Text him and tell him not to come.'' He suggested.

''He seems excited; I don't want to break his heart. I just- I don't know how to tell him I don't like him. This never happened to me before. It's always the other way around!'' I explained aggravated.

''Okay Tay, calm down!

''I can't.'' I sighed.

''I just, I'm so confused.'' I continued to say, having a sip from my tea.
