Song: You Had Me At Hello by A Day To Remember (I use this song a lot but honestly, it doesn't get old and I just love the lyrics so much.)
--------
I start setting up my camera before the barrier for sound check. I don't use the tripod during the show, but for sound check it's easier because there's not much movement involved. Their sound check's don't last long at all. The other bands playing before Reset Space have already done their sound check. Since those bands are opening, their set list is only five songs. Reset Space has a ten song set list for this tour.
After sound check, we find ourselves backstage in the dressing room. The venue's they're playing at now are bigger than the small tavern Bombshell's. It's more House of Blues, back stage, and dressing rooms. "Is the show sold out?" I ask.
"Not this California show," Benji says. "The one in LA is."
I don't know why it surprises me. "You guys have a lot of fans in California."
"It's not the only sold out show," Tyler informs me with a grin. "Bands like us are different. We don't have to worry about fans finding out where we live. Shit, our fans party with us." He walks away from the mirror and sits down next to me.
"Are you nervous?"
Mason laughs. "Tyler doesn't do nervous."
"He's right," Tyler agrees.
"I'm the only one that gets nervous," Evan pipes in from the chair opposite of the couch. "Last year I hit a girl in the nose with my drum stick. Blood everywhere." He shivers.
I laugh lightly. "You'll be fine. You all will be. But I can only hope Tyler falls on his butt so I can have a picture of it."
Tyler wiggles his eyebrows. "I haven't fallen on stage in over a year. I'm not breaking that streak tonight, baby."
I roll my eyes and we all stand up.
"Show time!" Benji shouts and he's the first out the door. Everyone starts walking out, but before I part with the band, Tyler turns to me and taps his cheek with his finger.
"What?" I question.
"Kiss for good luck," he says.
I roll my eyes and smile. As I stand on my toes, Tyler slightly bends so I can actually reach. His skin warms when I press a kiss to his cheek. "Good luck, loser."
Tyler levels his face with mine and I'm waiting for that kiss, but I don't get it. He just smiles, turns, and walks away. Maybe he's waiting for me to do it, but I want him to do it. This whole waiting thing is stupid. He knows I like him.
I should've just kissed him damn it.
A long breath escapes my mouth as I walk down the hall Tyler did, but I join the crowd with my camera. I stand in front of the metal barrier and look behind me to see how many people showed up.
It seems endless.
I can't spot the end, but I do find Lucy waiting on the other end, but she's standing on the same side of the barrier I am. She sends me a wave and then the lights dim. The band comes on stage one at a time, starting with Evan and ending with Benji. I start taking pictures first off.
For some reason, I definitely feel more relaxed in this environment even though the band isn't really relaxed. Well, maybe this is their version of being relaxed.
