Something changed between Tyler and I, and I liked it.
We're closer than I thought we could ever be, but nothing has really really changed, I guess.
One more stop in Georgia and then we'll be on our way home for the last two shows. We just left Alabama, and we have a three-hour drive ahead of us to get to the venue in time. With Tyler driving, it probably won't be a problem. Out of everyone in the band, I'd say he's more daring when it comes to getting places. Evan's the calmest driver out of everyone in the van, including Lucy.
Lucy has road rage like no other. She's quiet, but not when a car cuts her off. Benji is just...Benji. He kind of just goes with the flow, but also has road rage. Mason is hilarious when he's driving. Road rage is a small factor, but he'll blast the most random music, including Madonna and Blondie.
But Tyler has a mixture of road rage, his music choices range from the Spice Girls to Metallica. I would know, because they're on the same playlist.
This band is literally the best and never fails to make you laugh.
As we're driving, I'm in the passenger seat and Tyler's surprisingly calm for now. Not sure how long that'll last because the whole drive is basically going to be on the highway. That's when you discover the bands unrelenting road rage.
Tyler's in a great mood and I have to say I've never seen him smile so much. It's Tyler we're talking about and I'm sure he doesn't go five minutes without smiling, even when he's sleeping. That wouldn't surprise me.
The whole ride is spent singing too loudly, goofing off, and minor conversation.
When we arrive at the venue, we're just in time.
The stage crew and the band start unloading the trailer and bringing it inside through the back doors. I find my camera bag in the back of the van and head inside to start setting up while the stage is being put together.
I attach the lens and walk around my camera to adjust for the lighting.
Arms go around my waist from behind and I can't stop my smile. Tyler presses a kiss to the side of my neck and says, "I have a surprise for you before the show."
"What kind of surprise?"
"A date," he replies. "One in every city we visit."
My smile widens and I turn in his arms. "When do we leave?"
"About five minutes," he says and looks over my shoulder for a moment. "And leave the camera behind. There won't be any phones or cameras for a distraction."
"Sounds good to me," I whisper.
Tyler bends to kiss me quickly. "I'll come get you in a few minutes. We have an hour before sound check."
I nod and Tyler runs off again.

Tyler drags me out of the venue while no one is watching and we start walking down the street. We had to leave through the back because there's fans already lining up outside.
But we managed and now we're on our way to Tyler's surprise. It makes me a little nervous because only God knows what Tyler's thinking of as a surprise.
