Song: Knuckles by Moose Blood

"Did Evan leave to go pick up Val from the airport?" Benji asks before taking a bite of his food.
"Yeah," Mason answers. "He didn't even wake anyone up to say he was leaving."
I look at Mason curiously. "What time does her plane land?"
"Noon, I think. The airport's twenty minutes away and he left before eight."
My lips curve into a smile. "He's excited to see her obviously. I'm sure Benji would do the same for Lucy."
Mason raised a brow and then looked at Tyler. "And I'm sure Tyler would do the same for you, right?"
I snort and stab a strawberry onto my fork. "I can't see Tyler waking up before eight for anyone."
Tyler scoffs. "For your information, if your plane landed at four in the morning I would be there. If it was six in the morning, I'd be there. Maybe not five hours early, but I'd be there. Hell, I might not even go to bed."
I laugh and shake my head. "Good to know you wouldn't be five hours early."
Just as I'm about to eat the strawberry, Tyler grabs my wrist and forces the strawberry into his mouth instead. My mouth drops. But Tyler grins at me.
I just glare at him and get another strawberry. "I guess I should bring up that I have to go home soon," I say. "But only for a few days to put in work hours for my dad."
"Where are you leaving from?" Tyler asks.
"New Jersey and then I'll fly back to Georgia probably," I reply. "I'll be back before you know it."
Tyler uses his own fork this time to steal a blueberry. "Good, because I don't need to come after you this late in the tour."
"You'll survive without me," I tease and eat of piece of banana.
"Maybe," Tyler breathes. "Maybe I won't. So don't be surprised if you come back and I'm broken."
I start laughing and nearly choke on the piece of banana.
Tyler's something else.

During sound check, Evan finally shows up with a beautiful girl in tow.
My eyes kind of bug out of my head. Now I see why he was nervous to talk to her. I don't think I can even talk to her. Evan's adorable and I can see why they look so good together. She's tall, but not taller than Evan. Her hair is down to her shoulders and the color reminds me of fall. The auburn waves glint in the dull lighting of the venue.
Everyone jumps off the stage and Tyler runs straight for her like a puppy. He nearly knocks her over, but she laughs and hugs him back.
Tyler's a very affectionate person, so I've found out. But I don't mind it.
She goes around hugging the rest of the band and Lucy too. That left Bea and I. When she steps up to us, I see her eyes. They're the color of emeralds and now I definitely understand why Evan stumbled.
Tyler throws his arm around my shoulders and hugs me to his side. "This is the beautiful Maggie," he says. "Maggie, this is Valerie."
"Preferably Val," she says with a smile. "It's good to finally meet you. I remember Tyler telling me about you after they played at the wedding."
