Song: Winter's Weather by AS IT IS

"Where are you?" Bea asks through the phone.

The cab driver hands me my bag and closes the trunk. "At the hotel. Did you leave the key at the front desk?"

"Yes," she says. "Tyler has the room to himself. So he thinks."

I laugh lightly. "Good, then he'll be surprised."

"Yeah, definitely," Bea replies. "It's all he's been talking about today. He's been excited for to get back. He'll be happy to know you're back tonight instead of tomorrow."

I pay the cab driver and start heading towards the entrance. "Thanks for all the help. I'll see you in the morning."

"You will," she says. "We'll be leaving in a few minutes after they finish signing a few things. He's basically told every fan that his girlfriend's coming back."

I stop inside of the lobby and ignore the burning in my cheeks. "I've only been gone for a few days."

Bea sighs. "What can I say, Maggie, the boy is love struck."

A laugh escapes again and I shake my head. "Whatever. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Always changing the subject," she mumbles. "See you in the morning."

We hang up and I manage to stuff my phone back into my pocket. I lift my bag again and start walking to the front desk. The woman smiles and I give her my name so I can get the key to the room. I'm just tired, so getting to the room as quick as possible is on my agenda.

I ride the elevator up to the third floor and get off. As I'm walking to the room, I pull my phone out again to check the time. It's almost one in the morning, so I know Tyler will be back soon. Even though I was only gone for three days, I can't ignore my jittery nerves and the stutter beating of my heart.

When I come to a stop in front of the door, I unlock it and slip inside. Tyler is staying in this room because I see his clothes piled on the table and a handheld gaming system sits next to his computer.

Yep, Tyler has definitely been in here.

I sit my bags down in one of the chairs and walk towards the made bed. Smoothing my palms down my legs, I sit down on the edge and nervously tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. Why am I nervous? I have no reason to be nervous. I know Tyler will be excited that I'm back early, so I'm really not sure.

Maybe it's not nerves.

I'm anxious.

I'm anxious to see his reaction.

So I sit here and wait. I don't reach for my phone and I nervously pick at my fingers.

Minutes go by and I feel like the world is slowing down. The clock on the wall shows that it's now fifteen after one.

My heart starts beating faster because he can be close.

Then I hear talking and I then Tyler's laugh.

What I don't expect is for my phone to start buzzing in my pocket. I quickly pluck it from my pocket again and see Tyler's name on the screen. The door clicks and opens.

Tyler steps inside with his phone pressed to his ear and pauses when he sees why I'm not answering my phone. I stand quickly and clasp my hands in front of me. "Surprise?"
