Chapter 4
It's been more than a month since I have talked to Josh. Currently I am in my room grabbing my headphones and a book to bring with me to the park. The park is always so quiet. A nice place to think about everything that is happening. I am just as confused as confused as I was a month ago when I left Josh.
I decide to walk to the park instead of having to driving my car. I haven't talked to Josh once since I left him that night. I contemplated calling him a few times but why should I? He didn't bother to try and contact me.
I get to the park and sit under the first tree that I see. The smell of fresh fallen leaves fills the air and people all around are talking and just having fun. I open my book and begin reading after putting my headphones in my ears.
It's a fairly quiet day today. Not many people are here but the ones that walk by don't acknowledge my presence but then I have the people who actually recognize me and ask for my autograph and a picture. I don't want to be rude and decline to I just agree.
When I look up from my book I see a little girl about 12 years old standing in front of me.
"Hi I'm Emily." She beams at me.
"I'm Elise." I smile weakly back at her. I place the bookmark back into the book and toss it to the side.
"I know! You're Josh Hutcherson girlfriend." She smiles holding her notebook to her chest. "You are so pretty."
"I was his girlfriend and thank you." I wince at the words I say and she frowns.
"Well he is loosing out on a amazing girl." She compliments. "Can I have an autograph and a picture?"
I nod and agreement and sign the notebook she handed to me. Her mom who was standing nearby took then photo of us and we both waved bye to each other. I decided that it was time to leave so I got up and headed towards the park exit. Just as I was about to leave I see the familiar boy sitting on the bench with his back to me.
Josh. And the bitch is sitting next to him. Claudia. I assumed that they were dating now since that was all the media ever talked about. Josh and Claudia, Claudia and Josh. Caught kissing or going on a date. Such a short period of time and he has already moved on.
My eyes tear up at the sight of him and I grip my book in my hands. A girl from behind me screams, LOOK ITS JOSH HUTCHERSON and he automatically turns around. His eyes lock instantly with mine and he gets up. He tries making his way over to me but all the girls mob him asking for pictures and autographs. I am frozen in place, shocked. My mind is telling me to run but I just can't. No one really pays attention to Claudia so she makes her way over to me.
"Well, well." She smirks crossing her arms over her chest.
I close my eyes and turn away. "What."
"Well, guess who won.." She grins twirling on a piece of her hair. "Not you."
"This wasn't a contest Claudia. And I didn't loose anything." Tears slip down my face and I turn back to her. Josh is in the background trying to quickly get girls away by signing autographs and pictures as fast as he can.
"Oh so you did though. Who is the one dating Josh? It's me." She turns around and blows Josh a kiss and my heart aches in pain.
"Whatever Claudia. Just leave me the hell alone. Just face it you were always jealous of me." I say through my gritted teeth. "You just think you are this perfect thing, well hate to break the news to you sweetie. You are far from perfect. You are a bitch, a hoe. Always trying to ruin peoples relationships. You are just so greedy when it comes to people that you like so you do anything just to screw of their relationship."
I clamp my eyes shut when I feel Claudia's hand smack across my face. I quickly bring my right hand up to my cheek, agonizing at the pain she has caused. The whole right side of my cheek is a bright red.
"What the fuck Claudia!" Josh screams trying to push through the girls.
I throw my book the ground and shove my hands against her shoulders causing her to fall backwards. She regains steadiness and glares at me. "What the fuck!!" She screams stomping her foot on the ground. I smile and she runs over to me grabbing my throat in her hands. I choke trying to gasp for air and she keeps tightening her grip.
"Who do you think you are!" She screams in my face clenching my throat harder.
My hands move up trying to pry her hands of my throat but I can't. My face is now beat red and is turning purple. I aM doing all I can to try and get air but I just can't. Her grip is too tight.
Her hand is ripped off my throat and I quickly collapse to the ground gasping for as much air as I can at once. I cough a few times and rub my throat wincing at the pain that Claudia has cause me yet again.
"Claudia get the fuck out of here!" Josh screams pushing her away. He looks over to me and I close my eyes breathing in and out. In and out. "And that means all of you too!" He refers to the group of girls standing around us.
I hear a few sorry's and soon its just me, Josh and Claudia.
"Claudia I said leave!" Josh yells out running his hands through his hair. I still lay on the ground trying to keep my breathing at a steady pace. "I don't even know why I said yes to dating you. You are a monster! Look at you! What the hell did she ever do to you! Nothing God damnit! Just leave its Over!" He cries out.
Claudia stands there shocked and blinks a few times, "Her Josh! I mean look at her on the ground crying! She left you Josh! I was always there for you!"
"She left me because I gave her a reason to and still I regret! I should have never kissed you! I-I," He stutters pacing around. He looks over to me and mouths are you ok and I nod. "I felt bad for you that what." He says coldly.
"Felt bad?" She laughs sarcastically. "The only one you should feel bad for is that." She points to me.
"Leave Claudia. Now. I should call the cops on you but I won't if you leave now." He glares at her.
"Yo-You are making a huge mistake Josh." She shakes her head at Josh. "Bye whore." She looks at me and walks away. I stick the middle finger up at her as she walks out and Josh chuckles and kneels next to me.
"I'm so sorry about that." He says helping me up.
"Whatever I hate her." I chuckle as he hands me mybook.
"Me too." He grins putting his hands in his pockets. I grin and cough. "Wow, already bruising." He says bringing his hand to my chin making me lift up my head so he could examine my neck.
"Yeah, it hurts a lot." I wince as I put my head back down. "And my cheek." Turning my head to the side so he could see. He shuts his eyes at the sight and pierces his lips. A few tears falls from him eyes.
"I am so sorry Elise. I didn't mean for this to happen." He cries wiping away the tears quickly. I was about to say something when I heard someone screaming Josh. I turn to the side and see a few people with cameras running towards us taking photos from the distance.
"Josh..." I trail off. He looks to the side and his eyes widen.
Josh grabs my hand quickly and basically drags me out the other park exit.
"Lets go to my house so we can ice your cheek and everything and also get away from the paparazzi." He grins interlocking our hands and running out of the park.
