Chapter 5
"You have to run Elise!" Josh Yells to me. I am falling behind and the paparazzi are after us. Flashes of light is coming from behind us and people screaming questions about what just happened.
"I'm trying but I'm kind of hurting here! Almost got choked here!" I scream to him. He stops and i run right into him. "What the hell Josh!"
He bends down. "Jump! They are catching up!" He panics. Without even thinking I jump onto his back and he runs us all the way back to his house. He puts me down and rummages through his pockets for his key. He finally finds it and opens the door quickly locking it behind him. He runs through out the house making sure everything else is locked and I go and sit on the couch trying to catch my breathe yet again.
"Hopefully they will go away soon." Josh smiles reentering the room. The paparazzi are still banging on his door trying to get in.
"Elise! Why didn't you go after Claudia!? Are you afraid of her?!" I hear someone scream through the door. I just laugh and Josh sits on the arm of the couch.
"So what was all that about? I looked over and saw Claudia slap you." He looks at me for an answer.
I laugh a little more and grin, "She just needed a reality check."
Josh laughs and looks down at his hands picking at his nails, "Listen. I am really sorry. I didn't mean fo-"
I cut him off, "Let's not talk about that now. I would like some ice for my cheek please."
He gets up from the couch and I do the same following him out of the room to the kitchen. He makes me sit on the counter while he grabs a ice pack out of the freezer. Before he does that he gets a rag and soaks it in hot water and stands in between my legs as he holds it to my cheek. I blush when his eyes lock with mine for a split second. He looks away quickly and makes me hold the rag as he grabs the ice pack off of the counter.
"Hopefully this will make some of the swelling go away." He says bringing the ice pack up to my face as I put the hot rag on the bruises around my neck.
"Man how am I going to explain this to my parents." You joke "That my ex-boyfriends psycho girlfriend tried killing me because I told her the truth." You laugh jumping off the counter.
Josh frowns when you say ex-boyfriend and goes and put the ice pack away and rag. "I don't want to be known as ex-boyfriend." He nearly whispers as he rinses the rag and hangs it up to dry.
"Then why did you move on so quickly Josh." You stammer. "Why, I was not even a month and I already saw the media all other about yours and Claudia's new relationship." You put your elbows on the counter and place your face on your hands trying to hold back the tears.
Josh and you use to always say forever and always. That no one would ever come between you two and it would be you and him against the world. But look at whats happening. Fighting. You don't want to fight with him at all but he has done some really stupid stuff. You wonder whats going on in his mind.
He moves to the side of you and places his hand on your back rubbing his hand up and down to try and calm you down. But it doesn't, it just makes you want to cry more.
"I-I don't know..." He stutters. "Actually I do. I'm stupid Elise. That's what I am." He leans back on the counter and closes his eyes. "I hurt the girl I love the most because I can't think straight and do all the wrong things!" Josh tugs at the ends of his hairs and slides down the side of the counter.
"Josh.." I cry and sit down next to him.
"No I'm not done." A few tears slips his face and he begins again. "I never expect for you to forgive me. Really. I cheated plain and simple. And I hate that everyday. The guilt just eats away inside of me and I just go insane. I feel alone. Empty when your not here with me. Your the light of my world. Claudia means nothing. Nothing. She was just always on top of me I just got so annoyed that I gave her a chance. You hadn't talked to me in a month so I guessed you sorta gave up on me I guess."
I didn't notice all the tears that are coming down my face until Josh moves in front of me and wipes them all away with his thumb. I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him towards me placing my face in his neck. He quickly responds by placing his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him.
"I missed you so much Josh." I whisper as tears stained his shirt.
"I missed you too Elise." He responds.
"I forgive you." I say and he makes me look at him. I bite on your bottom lip as I rethink what just was said but I know I did the right thing.
"Wh-what." He barely even makes out to say.
"I said I forgive you. I know I shouldn't but it feels right. I know that it will always live in the past and will be lurking there but we have to live in the future Josh. It happened it happened and what you said made me realize that I can't be without you."
He smiles widely and stands up helping me up also. He pulls me into the biggest hug ever.
"Josh you're hugging me so tight." I laugh. He lets go and quickly says I'm sorry. I shove him back but he grabs my hands and interlocks my fingers with his.
"Does this mean..." He trails off and looks right into my eyes. I nod and his smile becomes even bigger than before. "I've missed you so much." He speaks never breaking eye contact.
"I've missed you too." I barely am able to say before he smashes his lips onto mine. There it is the electricity and sparks flying every where. I wrap my arms around his neck and his hands go to my waist pulling me closer to him. It's like fireworks going off around us with each kiss. He breaks the kiss and places his forehead against mine.
"I love you Elise." He whispers as if there are other people who are in the room who could hear and he only wants me to hear.
"I love you too." I say as I lean my body against his.
"Forever and always." He speaks holding out his pinkie.
"Forever and always." I repeat, wrapping my pinkie around his making the promise I never want broken again.
"Now about that fight.." Josh laughs.
"Josh not now!" I groan. "She gives me headaches." I sigh rubbing my temples with my fingers.
"I'm just joking!" He laughs even more before placing a gently kiss to my forehead.
