Chapter 10

"Elise Smith." My name trailed through the microphone. I stood up proudly and walked along the stage shaking my principals hand. A group of people stood on the crowd and whistled screaming my name. I smiled and blushed looking over to see my family holding up signs. I grab my diploma and hold it out proudly and the scream even louder. Josh stands out the most to me. The way he puts his pinkys in his mouth and whistles. Claps. Tears brim my mothers eyes as I walk off stage and they all take a seat.

I go back to my seat with my class and sit next to my friend Amber. "Finally!" I squeal holding my diploma tightly in my hands.

"I know! I can't believe it!" She beams holding hers also. I give her a half hug and watch as everyone else gets their diplomas. Once everyone is done my principal takes the microphone again.

We all stand up and grip our hats tightly. "I now present to you the graduating class of 2013!" Our principals says into the mic. I throw your cap into the air with everyone elses. Amber runs off to her family and I grab my cap that came flying to the ground and begin walking over to my family.

I get tackled from behind and I scream. "We did it!!" Leslie says as I turn around to face her.

"I know!" I yell over the loud crowd and hug her tightly. I can hear her crying and I start crying with her. "It's alright Leslie. We can always hang out." I smile hugging her tighter.

"I know. I need someone to fan girl about with glee." I sniffle. I hug her again. "I should get to my family."

"Me too, text me alright?" I say hugging her one last time.

"Of course!" She wipes her cheeks and we both go in our separate directions.

I walk through the crowd od people trying to find my family. I swore they were over here but I guess not because they are not here anymore. I pass people crying, and smiling. A few people I know pat my shoulder and congratulate me on my graduation. I thank them and keep searching. Someone wraps their arms around my waist tightly and I squeal trying to push them off.

"Congratulations." He whispers into my ear. I turn around and meet those hazel eyes again. They glisten with proudness. I kiss him forcefully and he smiles into it. He breaks away and puts his forehead to mine. "You did it."

"I know." I whisper and peck his lips again. My mom comes from behind me and engulfs me in a hug followed by my sister and dad. "Ughh." I groan. Josh laughs as they all let go.

"I'm so proud of you!" my mother sniffs and dabs her eyes.

"Me too" my father says proudly and pats my head. My sister nods in agreement.

"Thanks." I smile and hug Josh's waist. He wraps his arms protectively around me and everyone smiles.

"We made reservations to go and eat so we will me you there. Josh will take you" my mother smiles warmly as they all walk out. Josh grabs my hand dragging me out of the room with all the crying mothers and students.

I hop into the car and Josh starts the engine. He grabs my hands and drives to the restaurant with one hand. He rubs circles on the top of my hand with his thumb and sneaks glances at me every so often.

"How much longer?" I whine. "It's been like 20 minutes!"

"Only made 5 more." Josh smiles. He looks over to me and I roll my eyes and look out the window. He kisses your hand and I smile shyly.

It takes about another 10 minutes to get to the restaurant. We walk inside and he tells the receptionist his name. He nods and we both follow him down the hall. I wrap my arms around Josh's arm as the receptionist opens two doors. We walk in and my mouth hangs wide.
