Chapter 31

One thing about time is that it never stops and you have to make the most of it while you can. Because we are all not here forever. It is better to smile than frown and be sad.

It's confusing how time works also.

Some moments it seems like in a blink of an eye hours go by. And then there are moments where it goes by so slow and this is one of those moments.

I stare at the clock on the wall and wait for my shift to finally end. No one has been in the shop since mid afternoon and I have basically just been standing here since then scanning over all the different types of pastries. It is so tempting to just grab one and eat it but I probably would get fired.

Harry comes from the back of the bakery with a towel over his shoulder and grabs a cupcake from the glass case and eats it. And then take off is apron and places it on the hanger. "My shift is done." He mumbles and makes his way to the door.

My head nods and I say a okay. He walks out the door with a quick wave, jumps into his car and speeds away.

A few more customers come and go throughout the store or the last two hours of my shift. I am glad when I am finally able to take off my apron and place it on its hanger. I got it the back and say a good bye to all the workers and make my way outside.

The door shuts close behind me and a gust of cool air hits m. I take my sweater from around my arms and put it on. Suddenly as I am about to continue walking I hear a car pull up beside me. I turn around and see Josh from the rolled down window.

"Hey!" I wave walking up to the car. "What are you doing here?"

He leans over the arm rest to get a better view of me and says, "I'm taking you for lunch. Get in."

"I shouldn't get in a strangers car." I joke as I back away from the car. Josh shakes his head and chuckles as he unbuckles his seat belt. He jumps out of the chair in one swift movement and makes his way towards me.

"Elise, you and I both know we are definitely not strangers." He whispers in my ear with a wink.

My breathe hitches in my throat and I gasp, "Josh!" He shrugs and grabs my hand pulling my towards his car.

When I get in the car he closes the door for me and goes around to his side of the car. He buckles his seat belt and starts the engine before driving away from the curb. I stare out the window and think about tomorrow Josh will be leaving.

This seems what out relationship is about. He leaves for a movie and or short your for the movie. I stay home and wait patiently for him to return while I read everything the media points at him that rips my heart out.

Then I ask him about it all and he obviously denies everything as always and I believe him.

Why?

Because I trust him with my soul.

I look over at Josh and admire his features. It's weird how you can go from not knowing a person and letting them into to your life. And trusting them with everything.

We have been through our ups and downs obviously but we always seem to make it through them.

I don't notice that I am still starring at Josh until he looks over at me and gives me a smirk. "Take a picture." He laughs.
