we pulled into a hotel parking lot and Ronnie got out of the car. I looked over at the temperature thing. 115 degrees I read and put my flip-flops on and opened the car door. I picked the keys up and turned the car off and jumped out. I started to walk into the hotel. my shoes getting harder to lift from the pavement each time I took a step. I looked down and lifted my foot, my shoes kind of stuck to the pavement. great, my shoes are melting. I thought as I entered the cool building. I walked over to Ronnie and stood next to him.

"please tell me that you locked the car"

"yes"

"please tell me you didn't leave the keys in the car"

"yes I locked the keys in the car" I said and held them up. He snatched them from my hand.

the lady at the front desk handed Ronnie the room keys and we walked back outside to the car. I opened the trunk and dug through my stuff till I found my converse. I sat in the back and swapped my flip-flops for those.

"why are you changing your shoes?"

" 'cause those cheap pieces of shit are melting to the ground"

"it's 115 degrees outside and the ground soaks up the heat, what do you expect?"

"not to be able to cook an egg on the sidewalk without a magnified glass"

"well it is possible, I did it when I was like seven. I also baked cookies on the dash board once, the car smelled like chocolate chip cookies forever. not like its a bad smell but never mind"

"I want cookies now!"

"good for you"

"you're mean"

"no I'm not, I'm just not going out of my way to get you cookies"

"exactly, not tell me why are we in Vegas?"

"because, now get your stuff."

I put the electric guitar over my shoulder, picked up my bag and put that over my shoulder and picked up my violin and Jacky and I's guitar one in one hand one in the other. Ronnie closed the trunk and we walked back into the hotel; to our room.

I set all my stuff on one of the beds and went over to the window. I pulled the curtains back and saw an awesome looking pool. I frowned.

"let's go to target"

"why?"

"for cookies and a swimsuit!"

"we aren't here to swim"

"well I have nothing to do then" I crossed my arms over my chest

"you have a violin, two guitars an iPod, and a laptop I am sure you can entertain yourself with one of those things"

"fine, you aren't any fun at all"

I opened my violin case and took out the violin, put the shoulder and chinrest on and tuned it. I rosined the bow and pulled out my sheet music. the last piece I was working on was "dead" by my chemical romance. I positioned the violin, my hand and the bow. I did a couple of warm-ups and then began to play. I got through the song with only two mistakes.

"where did you even learn to play?" Ronnie asked me, I smiled.

"Andie started teaching me how to play when I was nine, I became better than her. she gave me her violin and guitar for my birthday then killed herself. but then she showed up at the door a couple of days ago so truly I have no idea what happened with that part. But yah, Andie taught me how to play"

"wow"

"there are many things that I cant play, the only ones that I want to learn how to play still are drums and bass"

"I'm sure Ryan and Ron could teach you how to play"

"I figured that but I'm just sooo laaazzyy that I don't want to learn right now. If I learned how to play those two things then I would be able to play violin, cello, acoustic, electric, piano, bass ,drums and sing; that is a lot to have learned, especially for a fourteen year old"

"yes, you are very talented"

I sighed and laid the violin down on the bed.

"why wont you tell me why we came here?"

"it's a surprise"

"I don't like surprises"

"too bad"

"well you could have let me pack better than that"

"we didn't have time, we wouldn't have gotten here in time"

"I don't take that long to pack"

"we had ten minutes"

"fine. whatever." I said and rolled my eyes. I put my violin back in the case. I laid down on the bed and stared up at the ceiling.
