Self Publishing--Scandalous

Greetings, Ink Jars, Professor Lewis here. Today we shall be discussing a very scary topic...Scandalism (I do not believe that's an actual word, but you understand my point). Where were we? Oh yes, Scandalism--or, at least, the scandal of breaking away from Traditional Publishing.

I've been writing for quite a while--hopefully I've progressed through that time--and I'm finally at the point where I wish to publish. I've "published" here on Wattpad, but I don't get paid or receive a physical book here. Listen, I really love you, dear Ink Jars, but I'm ready to reach more of you! You have all taught me so much and a truly appreciate it.

So anyway, I'm hoping to self publish sometime within the next year (if not the next few months). I figured that you would all probably enjoy hearing about my journey--all of my struggles and triumphs. With the minimal research I've done, I have decided that I most likely want to self publish.

There are SO MANY opportunities for self publishers now that it might be difficult to know what to do so hopefully I shall be able to provide incite for you when your time comes.

Why self publishing? Because, from what I understand, it's cheaper. You also do not rely on anyone besides yourself to get your novel out there (which can be a curse)! You don't have to wait for a publishing company to "accept" you! If your book does really well being self published, I'm pretty certain you can re-publish "officially."

So, when I take the next step in the process, I'll try to update you all! I may be beginning a Facebook page or blog or YouTube account for more advertising/advice/information so, if you're interested, I can post the links one Wattpad when I get it rolling. Also: when I publish, I would really appreciate if some (or all) of you would buy my book and support your favorite professor.

This wasn't a very formal chapter--like I normally would write--but I wanted to provide an update for you all.

Another Note: I'll be publishing a tag-team book hopefully sometime within this next summer. I've teamed up with sabersam (a good Ink Jar and friend of mine) and am currently in the process of plotting out an awesome new book. I'm super excited to get writing. We'll publish on his account (which is awesome, go check it out) though, so I'll let you know!
