Greetings Ink Jars, Professor Lewis here with your next lesson!

Can't write anything less than thirty pages you say? Can never get anyone to read your work because it is too long you say? Well, you've come to the write book--as always. Now earlier we discussed why to write short stories, but today we'll discover how.

Step one: Develop your idea

Brainstorm what you wish your short story to be about. You'll most likely be looking for a simple plot. Now, this does not mean that you will not want to write something complex or filled with side plots. It simply means that you need to make sure they do not overwhelm what is actually progressing.

Step Two: Begin

Begin your story with a basic knowledge of what is going to happen. Then write the first page or so just to get the idea of how everything is going to go.

Step Three: Plot every scene

Now comes the scene by scene, moment by moment plot. Like I mentioned earlier, you need to make sure everything has a purpose. But still have fun with it and don't strangle your creativity.

Step Four: Edit

Since your story is relatively short, read it over in one sitting at least once to see how it flows. Read it out loud and record yourself doing so.

WARNING: Don't drag your short story out. Write it in three nights and finish it. Honestly, you'll enjoy writing it more that way.

These are pretty basic steps, but you understand the idea. It's not too complicated.
