Title: The Dare

Genre: Short Story

Summery: Matt has been dared to skateboard down the biggest hill around. He is afraid, but his pride-and friend- pushes him on.

Things to work on: Though it fits the story, the cover is a little pathetic and does not build a ton of interest in my mind. I would also suggest rephrasing the "description" to spice up the story and make it more appealing. It would be beneficial to add little more imagery/description, but make sure you're showing us not telling us. The chapters are short which can be a good thing, but-as one of the other commenters stated-readers can become disengaged when they (the chapters) are too short. While the story had a plot, I still felt as if it was missing something. The "conflict" and "climax" are close to the start and gave me the feeling that the story did not have as good of a build as would have been good for it.

Notable qualities: Now on to the fun stuff! The author had WONDERFUL job with dialog. Dialog is very difficult and can RUIN a story! ThatWeirdCommenter did has a great way with the words to make it seem more real and natural. There was some "thought process" in there which- if I haven't already stated- is one of my favorite tools for making characters and stories come to life. Nice work! Keep writing and keep reading!!! Thank you for the review request! I also must mention that this story is completed and follows my rules 100%.
