He had never felt so alive in all his life. They chased each other all over John's house til Shadow tumbled into the upstairs bedroom. She stopped dead in her tracks. John caught up to her and stopped.
"What the hell?" he said looking around.
"You mean you didn't do this?" She asked turning towards him with a confused look on her face.
"No. I use to have a twin bed and a desk in here." He said walking into the room. Shadow looked around. She didn't feel any bad vibes or anything. She stopped at the desk that was in front of the windows. She picked up a card that was addressed to her and John.
"John. Come look at this." She said smiling. John came over and read the note out loud.
"I thought this would be more suitable for a couple. Hope you don't mind. The boss."
"I can't believe he did this." She said with tears in her voice.
"Me either. How did he know we'd come here?" John asked.
"I don't know. I wonder. Do you still have your laptop here?" She asked looking at him.
"Uh yeah I think so." He opened the desk drawer and pulled his laptop out and set it on the desk. Shadow sat down and typed in some weird commands and then John was looking at Shadows living room.
"Ok. I'm in. Now to check the rooms." She said smiling.
"Do I really want to know?" John asked rolling his eyes.
"No. Look at my bedroom. He changed it too." She said laughing.
"So he just changed both rooms to cover himself. Genius. Creepy but genius." He said chuckling. John slowly closed the laptop and swept Shadow up into his arms and carried her over to the bed. They took their time and explored each others bodies like it was the first time.
They let go of the past and put the future off for another day. All they wanted to do was love each other in piece and quiet for as long as the world would let them.
