Shadow
The SUV bounced along the rocky road.
"Are you sure we're going the right way?" John asked.
"Yes." Shadow answered simply.
"Where's your map?" He asked arching his brows.
"Don't need one. I can feel it. Keep going north until it ends, then head east. We should reach it by dawn." She said quietly.
"Ok." John pushed the accelerator and kicked the SUV into four wheel drive.
Just as Shadow had said it would, the road north ended at a giant Cliffside. John turned the SUV east and continued on. Just when he thought he would pass out from sleeplessness the SUV came to an immediate stop.
"What the hell?!" He yelled.
"We're here. Turn the truck off and let's look around a bit before sunrise." Shadow climbed out and walked to the front of the truck. John climbed out, stretched and followed her.
"Well this is weird." Shadow whispered.
"What?" John asked stifling a yawn.
"It seems we will have to carry everything from here." She said with her hands out like she was miming.
"Uh...no. Why?" John asked, clearly confused.
"Because, my man, there is a magic force field here. The truck won't go through it. See? Feel it." She took John's hand and touched it to the air in front of her.
"Wow." He whispered in awe.
"Let's get some sleep. We house hunt on the morrow." Shadow laughed as she climbed back into the SUV.
Twilight
Twilight yawned as Acheron's giggling woke her up. She opened her eyes and Roman was showing Acheron how to make fire and ice.
"Do you really think that's a good idea?" She laughed.
"Why not? It's not real. It can't burn or freeze anything." He answered sternly.
"Ok. Where is my husband?" She asked looking around.
"He's tending the roof." Roman answered picking up Acheron.
"Really?" She glared at the roof. She stood up and knocked on the roof.
"I'm coming, love." Drake called. He appeared in front of her. "We are almost there, but there seems to be a small problem."
"Oh?"
"There appears to be an SUV there, along with two people. I think we have hit or gone through a time tear. I don't know." He said looking to Roman for help.
"I was afraid of that. We can't go back. Are you ready for that? We are alone. There will be none of our kind here." Roman said seriously, looking from Twilight to Drake.
"That's great! So what if there are others here, maybe they are hiding out too?" Twilight said smiling.
"We will see tonight." Drake said quietly.
Tess
Rylan yawned and opened his eyes to his son pulling his nose.
"Where's your mother?" He asked picking Marc up. Marc simply drooled and looked up. "Tess, please tell me you are not on the roof?" He called.
"Ok. I'm not on the roof." She giggled and climbed back into the carriage. "I think we are here, but there are others. There is an SUV and another carriage. I don't know how many people." She stately quickly before Rylan had a chance to scold her.
"Well, it seems we are not the only ones in need of a place to hide. We will be cautious, but nice." Rylan said smiling.
"Come on little boy, time to eat." Tess said as she took Marc from Rylan's arms and snuggled him close.
