"So," I leaned against the door frame as Adrian unpacked, "what part of Italy are you from?"

"North," he said flatly, taking out his laptop, ipod, and other things a teenager can't live without.

"I think my family's home city is somewhere in the north too," I shifted. I was trying to make a conversation because if not my mom would yell at me, but he obviously did not want to talk.

He barely glanced at me before saying, "you couldn't pass for Italian even if you were surrounded by albinos."

Oh, so he wanted to play that game? All right, he asked for it.

I woke at seven the next morning, waiting, eyes half lidded for the yelling to start. Only a few minutes later I heard Adrian get up, and then..."the fuck?! Who?"

Grinning, I got up and went out into the hall. There stood Adrian, covered in flour, a cup that had been strategically placed on the top of his door now rolled on the floor. His hair, face, and eyelashes were caked with it, but I think he was still processing what had just happened.

"Morning," I said innocently. "Adrian, you look a little pale there, you feeling alright?" my eyes were wide as I blinked at him.

Smirking, I slipped past him and into the kitchen while he stomped into the bathroom to wash off.

I was still grinning when Calli texted me a few minutes later, so how are you and the new guy getting along?

"Heh," I typed back, oh, the fun has just begun.

What do you mean?

Nothing, dear, nothing at all.

Bella...

I'd have to watch my back now, I thought, Adrian was definately going to try and get me back. Getting dressed I went out to the barn, sat down under my horse and leaned against his front legs. Not surprisingly, Adrian found me, face pink with anger.

"You bitch," he snarled.

"Oh like I haven't heard that one before," I didn't even look up from my ipod. "What's wrong, couldn't take a little flour in your perfect hair?" I sneered. Jeez I couldn't remember the last time I was this mean to someone, but it wasn't like Adrian couldn't handle it...he was obviously one of those people.

Adrian opened his mouth to say something, but my horse was fast. Here's the thing about Tye, he doesn't tolerate anyone but me, and my dad, so I honestly expected Adrian to get a few bruises in the shape of horse teeth.

But instead, Tye grabbed Adrian's black ADTR band shirt, and just, just stared at him with his big, brown, intelligent eyes.

"Bite him," I muttered.

Tye just let Adrian go and went back to eating hay.

Adrian looked a little shaken, "what was that?"

"You miraculously not losing two fingers, count yourself lucky."

"Whatever," Adrian wiped horse spit off of his shirt, "You're a bitch and you'll regret ever messing with me." And with that he walked away.

"Doubt it," I muttered.

"I have to spend six months with that asshole," I looked up at my horse. "Why couldn't you just kill him and save me the trouble?"

Tye just sneezed and continued eating.
