"Highschool sucks, it's official," I muttered, my face in my textbook.
"Bell, I'm pretty sure we established that the first day of freshman year," Calli groaned as she furiously erased her answer.
Alex chuckled, his worksheets were, as always, untouched.
Calli glared, "do the damn problems, Alex."
"Aw," he frowned. "But you know how much I like to bullshit school."
"That's why it's amazing you've made it this far, in an honors class no less," I bopped him on the head with my highlighter. "Now help us."
"Too late," Calli muttered, looking at the clock. "We have three more minutes of hell; not enough to try and figure out another problem."
"Can't say I'm complaining," Alex yawned.
"You can't say anything at all! You didn't do anything!" We yelled in unison.
"Calli, you're boyfriend is an idiot," I grabbed my bookbag and started stuffing my things into it.
"I know," she stared pointedly at Alex, who just smiled like a little kid.
The bell rang, and every one of the students practically launched themselves out of their seats.
Alex had to go somewhere, so Calli and I walked out to the parking lot together. She glanced at me, her big brown eyes betraying nothing, "so, did Adrian fess up to kissing Michelle."
"I don't think he knows that I saw...besides," I said quickly, "it's none of my business what he does anyway, so I shouldn't have gotten so upset."
Calli's eyes turned sad, "oh, Bells."
I turned to look at her fully, but she said nothing else. We walked to the truck, and as I threw my bag into the middle seat, she poked me. "Look."
Adrian was walking toward the truck, but he didn't see us yet. The witch herself ran up behind him and grabbed his hand. A surprised expression on his face, he turned.
Her red nails knotted in the front of his hoodie as she twirled a piece of her hair around her finger. Not even hesitating, she pulled him closer to her.
"Oh, shit," Calli muttered.
Before I knew what I was doing, I had walked up to them, and stopped a few yards behind Adrian.
Blinking slowly, Michelle stretched up on her tip-toes, reaching to kiss him.
I couldn't see Adrian's face. My heart was burning like I had acid blood, and before I knew it, two hot tears were rolling down my cheeks.
