Chapter 17:

Sam's POV

After a few days of doing nothing and not having any challenge, we are finally gonna have one. It's going to be a mix challenge. All the celebs and non-celebs will be involved. It's going to be a group challenge. We were placed in a group and I was lucky enough to be grouped with my friends. Each group must consist of 10 members, which only mean that we'll be having 2 people in our group that we might not be friends with. And we might end up being really good friends with them since we all have to be spending time with each other the whole time. These 2 people are dudes, making Sky, Alex and I the only girls in the group. Though, I ain't complaining. This could be an advantage, since almost all the groups consist of more girls than boys or they have equal numbers of girls and boys.

"So, what could be our team name?" Riley

"How about Sweet Melody?" Alex suggested.

"That's too girly, Lex." I laugh.

They all gave possible names for our group but I didn't bother to know what they are. I don't really don't care what the name would be. All I wanted at the moment was to get my things cleared.

Something has been bothering me ever since I walk out Angie's office earlier. She mentioned something about my parents but never got the chance to elaborate more about them. It was time for her to start the gathering at the quad.

What could possible happen to my parents?

I hope isn't something awful. I don't want them to get in trouble or something. I hope they are safe with what they were doing.

"Hey Sam, what do you think of Crazy People are our group name?" Thomas asked me.

I snap out my thoughts and answered, "That would be fine. But why that?"

"Well, technically it speaks in behalf of us. Since James and Brad had said they are one crazy people, while the five of us are crazy people as well. I know that Sky and Alex are a bit crazy, especially when it gets to their fangirling moods." Thomas replied.

"Ok. Crazy People it is." I smiled thought I was bothered.

I might as well try to forget about that thought for awhile. Thinking about it just makes me really worried. And why would I be worried, when nothing happened to my parents? I know, for sure they are safe and fine. Dad might be so happy because of the success of his new collection.

Speaking of Dad's collection, it's not that bad. They are really comfortable and quite me, if I may add. When he said that it was inspired by me, he was right about it. Though, it's a bit girly than boyish, which I was before. Somehow, I'm not that boyish anymore, unlike the time I got here or even before I got here. Wearing these clothes somehow made me a girl inside and out. But not the girly girl that everybody despise.

Mom, I think she's busy dealing with her talents. Why would they be in trouble? They are safe.

I should think about trying to win this challenge. This challenge would last for 20 days. We have to beat 9 other teams containing 10 members. This means we have to beat 90 people.

After coming up with a cool name for our team, which is Crazy People, we all headed to the lake and got to the task of getting to know one another. Since the eight of us knows each other, we asked James and Brad thinks we want to know about them and they both did the same towards us.

They seem really familiar, but can't pin point if I know them or something.

Once they've introduced their selves to us and we have introduced ourselves to them, it suddenly hit me. They were in a band that competed with Before You Exit and other bands days ago. They were the ones that won the competition; I believe their name is The Vamps. As far as I can recall, their performance was nice and it made all the ladies go crazy. I just don't know what they did that made them go GAGA.

"Sam, do you mind if we make you the team leader?" Braiden asked snapping me back to reality.

"What? That's gotta be a joke. I can't lead you guys." I protested.

"You'll be the one making the big decisions in our team." Riley uttered. "You could have Connor as your co-leader. You don't have to really lead us to victory."

"Who are you kidding, Riley?" I exclaimed. "We have to win, but I'm not gonna be your team leader. Alex could be it."

"Excuse me? No way. I don't know what a leader should do." Alex insisted.

"Neither do I." I looked at her, pleading her to agree, but she decline it.

"I'm not responsible enough to lead the team."

"Maybe Sky could be it or Connor." I suggested.

"Please, Sam. We all want you to be our leader." Connor pleads.

"Ok, fine. I'll be your leader." I finally gave up. "And you would be my co-leader?" I turned to Connor. I look at him waiting for his answer.

"Yeah. It's would be my honor." He proudly says.

Choosing me as their leader was nice. I never thought they trust me to be that responsible to lead the team. To be completely honest, I'm that responsible. I tend to lose a lot of things because I wasn't responsible enough to place it in its proper place. But none the less, they wanted me to be their leader, so I just took it.

It was silent, but the creaking of the crickets was loud. But not too long, the voices of my team mates made it hard for me to hear the calming sound of the crickets. They were busy talking and laughing about something-I didn't bother to know. So I poke Connor to get his attention and told him that I'll be at Angie's office for awhile.

I might forget about that same thought for awhile, but I can't help but be really bothered about it. I needed to know what Angie was about to tell me. But walking to Angie's office seems like forever. Every step I took, the more I was eager to find out.

What could exactly happen to my parents?

What had happen to Dad? Or to Mom?

I hope it isn't awful. But the look plastered on Angie's face when she mentioned my parents seems to tell me it was awful.

Something horrible happened to either my mom or dad.

Finally I got to the steps of her office. Finally that forever wasn't that forever at all. I walk up the few steps and ascend to the door. I nervously stared at the door knob. I slowly knock on the wooden door, the barrier that separates me from knowing the truth about my parents' state. Looking at the knob and waiting for it to flinch, made me feel more anxious. The knob finally turned and the door opened inch by inch. Angie's secretary was standing in front of me. She opened the door a bit wider and let me in. I went in and she went out.

"Hi Samantha!" Angie cheerful said. She looks quite happy than before. Maybe she's happy about the fact that her brilliant plan was going to have an amazing out come. "What can I do for you, Samantha?"

"Angie, I want you to tell me what happened to my parents?" I demanded in a harsh tone. Not doing it on purpose. I was just eager to know about my parents' state.

She looks at me with wide eyes. She was taken aback to my sudden outburst.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound harsh." I apologize. "I just want to know about my parents. It's been bothering me since you mentioned about them. When you said it, you have a look at somehow tells me that it was something bad." I calmly said, this time not sounding harsh.

"It's ok, Samantha. I understand." She said. "Well, it's like this....." she trailed off.

I swallowed at lump stock in my throat.
