Chapter 22

Alex's POV

Having the day off is quite okay. Even if yesterday was the first challenge after a long time. We don't have a competition for today for some unknown reason. But we were asked to be with our team the whole day to talk things out. We have to build our team together. We have to be closed and we need to make a strategy in order for our team's victory.

Toby and I haven't told anyone about us, but we're planning to tell them today, as soon as Sam is here. She's at Angie's office getting things settled, as what Connor had told us.

"Guys, is Sam hiding something from us?" Sky suddenly asked breaking the silence, since it was silent and maybe Sky doesn't like the silence. She might find it awkward.

"She isn't" Toby protested.

"Really?" Sky was unconvinced. But I know there is something wrong with Sam. She just hasn't told us. "She has been really quiet and strange this past 2 days. I think, there is something bothering her."

"And what would it be?" Braiden asked.

"I have no idea what it is, but there is. I just feel it."

"Let's not speculate just yet. We don't know anything. Maybe she'll tell us about it when she gets back." That was Connor, who I bet knows about it.

"Do you know something, Connor?" Riley questioned.

"Yeah, Connor. You have been spending a lot of time with her. You must at least know something." Thomas uttered.

"Yes, I do know. She has told me something but I have no right to tell you guys." Connor explained. "Let's just wait for her. For sure, she'll tell all of us about it. Okay?"

"Ok." We all agreed simultaneously.

Silence... it was silent as we all wait for Sam to arrive. It seems like forever when the door finally opened revealing a sad looking Sam.

"Hey." She merely says.

"Hi." We chorused.

"I have something to tell you all." Sam stated as she made her way towards us. We look at her with anticipation. She stood there, looking down at her feet as we all kept our glance to her.

"Sam!" Connor suddenly called out.

"Yes?" She looked up to Connor.

"What were you telling us?"

She glanced at each of us and smiled. It was more of a forced smile. "I just want to congratulate everyone for earning those 35 points yesterday. You all deserved it."

Looking at her, smiling, I could tell she has more to say than congratulating us. It might be the reason why she was crying the other night.

"Well, we have a good leader." James stated.

"If our leader didn't guide us, we won't be able to get those 35 points; instead we might only get 10 points at the end of the day." Thomas noted.

"But I'm not as good as a leader you think I am, guys." She uttered. "And besides if all of you weren't there then we might not get those points."

"True." Sky and I stated. We smiled to Sam and she smiled back.

"Anyways, guys, I need to get a feedback."

"If it's for your leadership, then you did great." Toby remarked.

"It's not that Toby."

"What is it?" Brad questioned.
