Chapter 23:

Alex's POV

It's been three days since we found Samantha all messed up, after she left to talk to Angie with Connor.

The day that they have talked to Angie, Connor returned alone. Sam wasn't with him. We asked him where Sam was but he said he thought she was already here. But she wasn't. Then somehow it hit him. He told us that Sam ran out the office crying. We immediately ran out the cabin and start searching for her. I was with Connor and Toby as we look for her. Connor told us that the president of the camp didn't permit her. And Sam was greatly heartbroken.

After around 3 in the afternoon looking for her, we found her under a tree, curl up like a ball and she was rocking herself back and forth as she cry and stare at nothing. Connor picked her up bridal style and we walk to mine and Sam's cabin. He lay Sam on her bed and Sam was fragile.

From that day on until this very day, Sam was fragile and numb. She just stayed in our cabin, on her bed, crying all day and just cried. She didn't utter a single word. All she ever did was cry, cry, and cry. She never ran out of tears. (I ain't making fun of her. I'm just wondering) She never spoke to any of us, not even to me or Sky. Not even to Connor, Toby, Braiden, Riley, and Thomas.

We tried everything for her to cheer up or for her to say a word to us but nothing happened. She was really devastated about not seeing her mom. Who wouldn't be? I would be really a mess if that would happen to me.

She might not talk to anyone of us, but whenever Connor asks her to eat something, she follows. Only Connor could convince her to do something. I guess, there is something about Connor that she trusts him so much. If it wasn't for Connor, Sam would be really sick, since she doesn't want to eat. Connor has been with Sam from that day until now. He never left her side.

But right now, I asked Connor to go to his cabin because I want to talk to Sam alone. I want to talk to her even if she won't talk to me. I want to convince her get out of it. I know it would hurt but it's not doing any good for Sam.

"Hey Sam." I said as I sat beside her on her bed. I grab her hand and held it in between mine. "Sam, I know you won't really talk to me but I have something to tell you. You have been missing a lot of our challenges. So every time we have a challenge, we put great effort to it for you. And guess what? We are leading the pack. We have garnered 110 points now. Can you believe it? 110 points." I stated.

"Sam, you've been in this room for 3 days. Can you please snap out of it? I know you are in so much pain because of what happened, but if you try to think about it. Would your mom be happy if you are looking like this? Would she be in peace up there when you are in this state." I muttered. "Think about it Sam." I stood up and let go of her hand. I close to the door, when I remembered something. "By the way, your dad is coming for a visit." I said and opened at door.

"Lex!"

"Yes, Sam?" I turned to Sam with a really huge smile plastered on my face. I was beyond happy to finally hear her voice again.

"Is it true that Dad's coming?" she asked.

I ran towards her. I jumped on the bed and hugged her really tight. "Sam, I thought you'd never hear your voice again."

"Lex, that's insane." She said laughing. "I was just so sad and confused that's why I don't want to talk or even do anything. Is it true?"

"It's okay, Sam. Are you going back to not speaking again or you'd be back to normal now?"

"I guess, you're right. Mom won't be happy when I continue that nonsense."

"That's the spirit." I said hugging her once again.
