Chapter 27:

The competition went on. Sam was fine but she never talked to Sky and neither did she talk to Sam. It has been 4 days by then. Sky didn't bother to try to talk to Sam. She never talks much at any team meeting. She kept her mouth shut all the time. She rarely talks to anyone. Sam, on the other hand, she talks rarely as well. She talks to Connor more than any of them.

Connor didn't force Sam to talk to Sky. In fact, he was the only one who knew what happened between the two. Not even Alex knew. Though, Alex and Riley were suspicious about the whole thing. And surprisingly, Thomas, Braiden and Toby didn't force Connor to say something about the situation. At first they weren't bother as to why the two never spoke to each other but as days pass, they were suspicious but not as suspicious as Alex and Riley who planned to ask the two about it. Connor spends more time with Sam since he was the only one that Sam wanted to talk to.

Alex, on the other hand, tried to talk to Sky but Sky didn't want to speak up. Same goes to Sam. Neither of the two said a thing to Alex.

4 days since the two never spoke to each other but lucky enough everyone was together during the challenges. They still manage to get to the top 3 of all the challenges making them earn more points. They still are on top having 230 points now. It was strange; even if Sam and Sky don't talk they still were able to do well in the challenges.

At this very moment, Sam is on her own by the lake. She sat at the very corner of the lake where no one could see her or even disturb her from her moment. After being alone for quite some time, Alex appeared and sat beside her.

"Hey Sam." She greeted.

"Hey." Sam said in a mere whisper.

"Sam, could I talk to you?" Alex asked.

"What do you want to talk about?"

"About you and Sky."

"What about it?" Sam said. "You've been bothering me about that. What is it that you want?" she snapped at Alex.

Alex was taken aback when Sam snapped at her. She become silent for a few moments until she decided to speak since she badly wants to know what was up.

"Sorry, but I really need to know." Alex stated.

"You don't need to know about it, Lex." Sam said lowering her voice.

"Why? Tell me why?" Alex's voice was gradually rising as she was eager to know about it. "You know what, it's really bothering me. I can't stand seeing you and Sky not talking or even bonding. Please, Sam, just tell me. Maybe I could help out."

"How could you help out, Lex?" Sam then again snapped at Alex. "How could you help when Sky's parents killed my mom?"

Alex immediately went silent. She was frozen when she heard those words escape from Sam's mouth.

Sam's POV

I stare at Alex, who was all of a sudden silent. I looked away from her and felt a tear roll down my left cheek. I can't help but feel so hurt every time I think of my mom's killer. It even hurts to know that it was my friend's parents that killed my mom.

Then all of a sudden, she hugged me by the side. "I'm sorry, Sam. I didn't know." She muttered. "That's why you were avoiding talking to Sky and you constantly spend much more time with Connor than Sky and I. Did Connor ever try to solve it?"

She said those words and a few more tears stream out. "Actually, Connor did try but I told him to drop it for now since I didn't feel like talking to her. I was hurt big time."

"But Sam, I bet Sky didn't know about it." She commented.

"Really?! It doesn't seem like it. If she doesn't know about this she should be the one who would approach me and make things better but she didn't. She didn't, Alex. She didn't." my voice cracked as I said those words.
