Chapter 28
Sam's POV
Founding out about Sky's situation before she came to camp broke my heart. I never knew that. I live right beside her house but I never got a sign that she was being abuse. Maybe because I never paid any attention to my surroundings.
I was already broke when my mom and died and now I'm even broke after finding out that my best friend was abused. Abused by her parents for crying out loud! But at least now, Sky would be safe away from her horrible parents. She'll be going with me back to Ireland after camp is over.
Speaking of camp, we have a few more days before camp is over. 10 days to go, to be exact. Camp is about to end, which only means that I won't be seeing any of them after it's over, especially Connor.
"Hey Sam." Someone called out snapping me out of my thoughts. I was sitting on the steps of mine and Alex's cabin. I turned around and saw Alex, wearing a quite fancy dress. Then it hit me. That dress is one of my dad's summer collection, the one that dad packet for me for camp. And in all honestly, I haven't wore that dress, ever since camp started.
Don't get me wrong, I love my dad to pieces and I really love his designs. He means everything to me, now that I don't have a mom. He is the only one I have. Well, I still have my other half-brothers, but they don't count except for Matt though. Well, his not my real brother, we don't have the same mother. Maybe he could be. But you get what I mean, right?
"It looks good on you, Lex. It looks better on you than it would on me." I uttered.
She laughs and spun around as she says "Thanks."
"How did you find that?" I asked.
"Its fine, Lex." I said. Besides, you know I don't wear those kinds of clothes."
"True. But I'm still sorry."
"Its fine, promise." I assure her as I got up. "Where are you going, anyways?"
"I'm not going anywhere. I was just playing dress up without you knowing." She said while a huge smile was plastered on her beautiful face. "But could I war this for the day?" she asked as she asked as she straighten the dress.
"Of course you could." I said. "In fact, you could have that. You could use that on your dates with Toby." I added and her cheeks turned a dark shade of pink.
"Speaking of that, camp is about to end. How would I be able to see him if I'm from this side of the world while he'd be in the States?" she suddenly uttered as she pace back and forth. Well, you're not the only one worried about that, missy. I was thinking about that a while ago when you decided to interrupt my thoughts.
"You're not the only one worrying about that, missy." I voiced out my thoughts.
"Oh yeah, I forgot. You and Connor are finally together." She said. I'm guessing she mentally slapped herself.
"What do you mean 'finally'?" I asked curiously.
"Well..." she trailed off as she ungracefully sat on the steps. "The day you knew about what happened to your mom, Toby and I saw you and Connor all alone. That moment you, two were so cute but minus the sad part though." She said as she giggles. I just listened to her as I manage to sit beside her. "Toby told me that Connor likes you ever since camp started. But he never had a chance to tell you since he also knew that Riley likes you as well. Being a big brother, he let Riley make the move but when he found out that he got rejected, that is when he made the move." Alex said as I try to recall everything.
"Oh, I see." I simply said.
"And well, that's the day Toby asked me to be his girlfriend." She added as the huge smile on her face become bigger, if that's even possible.
