Katelyn POV
I fell to my knees and hissed in pain as a bit of wood pierced my skin "Katelyn Fire Fist, you are accused of betraying the high priest Zane, and attacking a fellow members of the jury" the executioner said "Aphmau Lorde, you are accused of going against the high priest Zane and refusing to marry him, how do you two plea"
I smiled to myself "yeah I did it, but punish me twice as hard and let Aphmau go" I said looking up and him, out of the corner of my eye I saw a guard grip his sword tighter and looked over at me, he or she had their head covered with a helmet
"Well I might consider that" the executioner said "but orders are orders, I must kill both of you"
"How bout four times as much, just let her go" I growled
"Katelyn no, I won't let you" Aphmau cried
"And you can't stop me" I said "go on punish me with all you got, I won't care" I yelled pulling on the chains holding my wrists
The executioner smirked "as you wish M'lady" he said, I felt the cold blade of his axe on the back of my neck as he prepared to cut my head off in one go, looks like I'm gonna go see God, the guard I noticed earlier grabbed his sword and walked closer to the executioner, the executioner raised his axe above his head and was about to bring it down when the guard lunged forward
He stabbed the executioner through the heart from behind, he pulled his sword from him and walked over to me, I just glared at him as he got closer. He bent down in front of me until he was at eye level with me "Heeeyyy~ Katelyn" I heard the annoying perverted womanizers voice echo from the helm
"T-Travis" I asked shocked
He pulled his helm off to reveal those vibrant green eyes of his and smirked "you bet baby, ok Garroth coast is clear" he said
Garroth climbed out from under the platform we were on with Laurance, Vylad, Dante, and Nicole "wait what, why are you guys here" I asked
"We're not letting you guys get killed if it's the last thing we do" Garroth said
"Now hold still and trust me" Travis said, he got up and brought his sword down on my chains, braking them in half
"Thanks Travis, now let's go" I said starting to run off
Travis grabbed my forearm and stopped me, I don't know why but I felt the heat rush to my cheek "wait, I know a better way out" he said, we all followed Travis to a man hole and calmed down into the dark sewer
"Alright I'll take the lead, Travis you hold up the rear" Garroth said pulling out a torch and lighting it
"Right" Travis said, I started to walk but Travis grabbed me from behind "hold on" he whispered so only I could hear
I turned to him and waited for him to continue but he didn't speak at all, I just felt a warm presence on my lips, it took me a second to realize Travis was kissing me but when I did realize it was almost instinct to kiss back. I wrapped my arms around his neck and his hand found its way down to the small of my back (his other hand was occupied by a torch as well), we pulled apart when someone cleared their throat, I looked ahead and Aphmau was smirking back at me, great I'm never gonna live that down
I thought on the kiss for the next couple of days, of course it was kinda hard to forget when Aphmau was always bringing it up, wether it be noticeable or not, but I just kept thinking on how I actually enjoyed it much to my saying I didn't.
I didn't know how else to say it but I think Travis and I were meant to be, and I liked it.
