Garroth POV (Garroth is 8 and Aph is 6)
I was riding a big golden dragon back to its home, I never thought I would do this
When we landed a smaller dark green dragon, and bright blue dragon came up to us
The green one came up and got in my face, the golden dragon shoved him away and growled, the green one growled and whimpered in return
"Garroth, this is my son laurance, my mate Garte, and I'm Luna" she said
Garte put his head down and looked into my eyes, after a second he growled at me, I took a step back when Luna snarled at him
"Tomorrow you will go to Aphmau and learn to speak dragon, no foster son of mine will only speak human" Luna said "and it would be great to not have to translate everything Garte and laurance say"
"Ok but where does she live" I asked
"In the cave at the bottom of the mountain, laurance will take you tomorrow" she said "but for now get some sleep"
I nodded and walked into the back of the cave, I saw Luna and Garte curled up together and walked over to join them, but when I got there Garte growled meanly at me and for that Luna nipped his eye
Laurance came over, picked me up and pulled me over to a pile of hay and I went to sleep
Next morning
Aphmau POV
"Bye mom, I'm going to meet with Garroth" I said
"Who is this Garroth" she asked
"He's the human I told you about last night, I'm going to teach him how to speak dragon" I said
"Do even know enough human speak to do that" she asked
"Pfph yeah" I said running out of the cave only to crash into someone
We fell and when I looked down Garroth was there "Sorry...didn't mean... To run... Into you" I said getting up
"It's ok" he said getting up, he looked me up and down in confusion "do you think your a dragon" he asked
"I am a...dragon" I said defensively
He took a step back "it's just your human, why do you say your a dragon" he said
"I'm not human, why would you say I'm not a dragon" I growled, I gasped, I just spoke human with no problem "wait did I just" he nodded yes
"Here I'll show you your human" he said holding out his hand for me to take, I took it and he pulled me over to a puddle "Look we have the same skin, we both have thumbs, noses, and ears"
"But if I'm human why would my parents let a dragon take me" I said
"If your a dragon where are your scales, wings, and scaly tails" he said, I reached back and covered my bushy purple tail
"Then how am I able to speak dragon" I said nervously, he was bringing up good points and I was running out of things to say
"You've been around them so long you just learned their language" he said
I turned tail and ran back to my 'mother', when I got back to the cave I poked mom in the leg "Is it true am I human" I asked tears threatening to spill
She looked sad "It's true, I wanted to tell you but you were convinced that you were a dragon and I didn't want to hurt you" she said putting her head on the ground beside me "I'm sorry please forgive me"
I wrapped my arms around her muzzle and cried "I forgive you" I whispered
I felt a hand on my back, and in less than a second I turned and pulled Garroth into a hug
He hugged me back and whispered soothingly into my ear "It's ok I know it's hard for you" he said
Garroth POV
I rubbed aph's back comfortingly "I'm sorry you had to find out like this" I said
I felt really bad, I just destroyed everything she grew up knowing, but I'll be there for her, everything step of the way
