She woke up in the middle of the floor only to see feet at her head.
"I figure you be in your bed? And nice pink underwear." Atlas would ask looking down at her questionable.
She quickly pulled her shirt over her underwear that was showing while blushing bright red.
"Chill out, nothing I haven't seen before. But why are you sleeping on your kid's bedroom floor? I'm curious."
"I was visited by Lincoln last night. I must have fallen asleep on the floor after he left." She rubbed her head feeling a headache coming on.
"Get up and get ready!" He would say heading for her room.
She followed him in only to get in the face by a shirt and sweats. She watched him rummage around her room.
"Grab anything you need because this house is unsafe now."
"Why? What's wrong?" She yawned asking him.
"The boss uses that child as bait. He uses him to mark locations. If Lincoln came here, than that means the boss knows where you are and will be coming when the sun goes down. You will wish for death when that happens."
She went into her closet and pulled off her shirt, pulling on her maroon 5 shirt and pulling up the grey sweats.
"That's what I been telling you but you won't listen. Your son is gone, he's not yours anymore, the day he took your kid was when he marked the child as his own." He than tossed her a back pack.
"Why my child?" She was puzzled by this.
"Talk later, need to go. Yes we have til sundown to get you away from here but your family and others are still looking for you." He opened the window and offered his hand.
"Why are you going this far for me if your boss wants me now?"
"Because your different from the others. You have a fire in you and I like that."
She than took his hand trusting him.~~~
They arrived at an abandon cabin in the woods. It was very rundown but livable. The furniture was dusty and covered in cobwebs. The floor creaked under her feet as she walked around inside, dropping her stuff on the couch.
"It's not much but it's better than nothing."
She nodded as she took a seat. She felt like a runaway fugitive hiding out in the middle of the woods. He went over to the fridge and pulled out a vile and tipped it up, downing the liquid like a shot.
"Sooooo, you going to answer my question?"
"I don't think your ready."
"Why ain't I?" She was taken back by his refusal to answer.
"Your not. You will know when the time is right."
"So far this is the only time I'm not being chased or hunted."
"I'm going out to get some food. Stay put."
"Sure...tired of you not bring straight with me..." She crossed her arms not happy at all with him lying to her.
"Yeah well, things happen and half the time it's not fair. You deal. Be happy I'm risking my neck for you, I normally stay out of things involving the boss." Last thing he said before walking out the door.
Hannah sighed as she sat on the sofa with nothing to do. But an open door to the bedroom caught her eye. She stood up and walked to it. She opened the door more to reveal a small room with a bed that had been used recently, a dresser, and a broken lamp. She noticed a box on the dresser. She grabbed it after shutting the door and began to rummage through the box. She found a ring, a beautiful and priceless hair clasp, what got her was the little white baby dress and matching booties. A antique rattle and rag doll. But why did he have all this stuff? There was another box next to where the other box was. It was full of pictures of him. Except he looked different in these photos. He looked more lively and full of life. He looked normal in his white shirt and jeans, not creepy. And another thing, his eyes were yellow, they were greying blue. In another photo there was a girl whose red hair was styled in a half ponytail and had ringlets at the ends. She wore a white sundress in a field. Sun shining to make her look angelic looking. In other photos he was holding her close as if they were in love. As she kept looking, she saw the same girl in the hospital bed leaning against Atlas holding a newborn baby wrapped in a pink blanket. They smiled for the camera. More photos captured the baby, she had curly blonde hair and baby chocolate brown eyes, rosey pink cheeks and was a bit chunky. She wore a pretty pink dress with no shoes. Another photo showed them posed in the same field, all three smiling for the camera. Both girls word white sundresses and Atlas wore a white shirt with jeans. The last photo was of the same child but at the age five. Her once beautiful blonde hair with ringlets was a pale mess as it hung down her back. Her beautiful blue eyes glowed with dark circles framing them, her pink lips held no lively smile, her complexion had a bluish tent to it now. She wore a black long sleeved dress down was ripped at her knees. She had some bruising on her neck that looked bad but thinking about it, her own child had the same bruising. He had a family, he was happy, what happened? She heard a loud noise on the roof. Thinking it was him, she hurried and put the box back and ran out of the room. Walking outside to see where the noise came from, she was than slammed against the side of the house while twisting her wrist.
"Boss is looking for you!" A man's voice said in a happy tone.
"Let me go!" Hannah struggled trying to free herself.
"Nope, boss will have my head of I do that!"
Hannah than used the distraction to hoist upwards on the building and than pushing off into a back flip. Her wrist was untwisted and she was free. She than took off into the woods only to caught and slammed to the ground. He was now ontop of her as he pinned her wrists above her head.
"Nice try girlie." He smirked. He had shaggy brown hair and his eyes were bright red, red as blood. He was so pale and so cold to the touch that his grip froze her wrists.
"Let me go!" She started to kick and struggle, but it was no use.
"Tell me, why were you at my brother's cabin?"
She didn't answer, not wanting to get her only allie in trouble.
"Answer me! Why were you at Atlas's cabin?" He asked in a vicious tone, teeth bared as if he were a wild animal.
"I don't know.." She lied.
"Not very good at lying. I don't think boss would mind if I had a taste, to make sure your not bad that is." He bared his fangs and started leaning toward her neck. But his body went limp. She looked up to see Atlas standing above him.
"Sorry bout that. He smelled you a mile away." He dragged him off her. He than helped her up and inspected her body for any wounds or breaks.
"He's not human... He had fangs...wanted my blood...hes a vampire...that means..." She looked toward him frightened.
He went silent knowing full well the jig was up and she now knew the truth.
"Daylight...why aren't you and him dead...?" She shook.
"It weakens us...it our boss that dies in daylight. Me and others are stronger at night, were regular mortals during the day basically with an extra boost."
"Vampires..."
"It's not as bad as it seems." He started walking toward her.
She shook her head and took off through the forest. Her legs ached but she ignored the pain. Atlas was hot on her trail when hearing his footsteps right behind her. She ran into some briars which scraped and stabbed her skin. She bit her lip as she fought her way through and running again. Thinking she lost him, she slowed to a walk.
"Don't exactly have time to play, dear." Atlas said when appearing in front of her.
Hannah turned and started the other way but was caught by the wrist.
"Stop! It was no secret you knew I wasn't human!"
"I was thinking something like an angel or something more harmless!"
"I'm no angel, not even close." He laughed.
She managed to slide her wrist out of his grip but she found out the hard way he was keeping her from falling down a large hill. She fell backwards, landing hard to knock the breath out of her and rolling violently until coming to a stop. Her vision became blurred as she watched Atlas come in and out of focus. She managed to also see another figure before her vision went black.
