"In the flesh." He laughed at her for finally recognizing him.
"What? How? Why?" She was so confused of how the boy who fathered her child was no longer human, but a undead creature of the night.
"It happened a week after our little date. After knocking you up. I honestly was going to be there for you and the baby but that all changed when boss man attacked me while on my way to work. He had stalked me that whole week until he knew my routine. When j was alone one night, he moved in for the kill. Now here I am still twenty years old. I should be twenty-five by now. But I don't age anymore." He had released some of his grip on her.
"Why you...?" She barely got out.
"I guess I was just unlucky." He smirked at her.
"He has our boy..."
"Oh I know. Splitting image of me, he has your eyes though." He stroked her face, "still as beautiful as ever."
She smacked his hand away which made him squeeze her air hole shut again. She started gasping for breath and pounding at his hand.
"Better behave. I won't hesitate to kill you." He warned her.
"He's your son...why didn't you...protect him!" She struggled to say.
"Boss man does what he does. It doesn't matter what I would have done to protect our son, the end results would still be same and I could be a pile of ash."
"So! At least you would have tried!" He squeezed again which cut off her air again.
"I don't like being yelled at, specially by a little girl."
"I'm older...than you.." She said in a raspy voice.
He slammed her on the ground, sending her into a daze. He got on top of her and pinning hey wrists. She breathed hard, her vision was blurred from the hit to the head.
"Always had a smart mouth." He chuckled as he leaned in and licked her neck slowly.
She tried to move away but she was trapped.
"Maybe you could join me, it does get awfully lonely and not too many girls could ever measure up to you." He whispered into her ear as he bared his fangs.
Her vision finally cleared up and before she could try to get away, he bit into her neck and had a tight grip.
"Let me go!" She struggled under him but the sensation of him drinking her blood was like nothing she had ever felt before. It was very pleasurable and it sent her into a daze.
He drank from her for a good few minutes with her not fighting him anymore. He was suddenly jerked off of her by a powerful force. Atlas was standing above her, his hands and mouth covered in blood, his shirt ripped, his hair dripping red.
"Nice of you to finally join us." Jamie smirked while wiping his mouth.
Hannah blinked and looked around but her skin and blood still tingled from pleasure.
"Boss didn't want us to bite her. Her blood belonged only to him. You'll be lucky he won't have your head!" Atlas held back pure fury.
"My head? What about yours? You were hiding her!"
"You have no idea what I wanted to do. Maybe gain her trust because mundanes are a lot easier to deal with when you gain their trust."
"I know you. You aren't like the rest of us. You won't even drink mundane blood, you drink animal blood."
"I been a vampire far longer than you, kid, or would you like to end up like Genny?"
"What did you do to her?"
"She's alive, just will be a bit before she's back to her old self. I did break her jaw after all. I suggest you round her up and get." Atlas was now growling.
"I'm sure boss man will love to hear how your keeping his toy from him."
"Just like how he would love to hear that you tainted fresh blood."
Jamie went silent after that comment and was gone in a split second.
Atlas got down on his knees and looked at Hannah's wound. He started feeling and looking at it. His lips went into a straight line seeing how serious it was. He than picked her up and started to dash for his cabin. Once inside, he took her to his room and laid her down. He quickly grabbed a first aid kit, opening and searching the contents for bandages. He wrapped her neck until the wound was covered. She started to feel normal but her body ached and the wound added to it. Hannah's vision started going back to normal and the pleasure ride ended. She sat up only to be pulled into an embrace.
"I'm going to heal you so bare with me." He would say before she protested.
She nodded and relaxed into him. Soon she felt her body's aches and pains disappear. When she was fully healed, he let her go.
"So am I going to turn into a vampire?" She asked feeling her wound which still remained open and bleeding.
"No, in order to turn, you have to give and receive blood. You will just revert back to normal within a few days. Til than keep the wound covered because it won't heal until after the time to turn is over."
She nodded feeling relieved.
"You need to rest, your body is drained." He would tuck her into his bed.
"I didn't know Jamie was a vampire." She would mention.
"Boss saw potential in him. He was everything a vampire was in human form. Cold, sadistic, will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants. The boss considered him more his child than the rest of us because they are so much alike."
"He didn't seem like that...I thought he was caring and thoughtful. I thought he was too scared to step up to the plate..."
"He had you fooled, my dear. He just wanted a good time from you. Trust me I know, he brags about it."
She turned over in the bed feeling hurt by all this. Not only did he abandon hey but he never cared about her at all.
"He's an idiot to have hurt a girl like you. Even me, a vampire, would love to have a girl like you by my side." He started playing with her hair.
"I saw pictures...was that girl in them your wife?"
He went silent and his hand fell away. Hannah turned around to see him looking toward the ground.
"I'm sorry... I should hand said anything..."
"No, it's okay. I just haven't talked about her in ages.." He assured her.
"Tell me about her?" She sat up Indian style.
"Her name was Maria. She had hair the same color as yours, eyes were chocolate brown, and her soft pink lips always had a smile on them. Our parents were very close so we had grown up together, starting out as typical boy and girl who thought one another had cooties. But as we grew older we fell for each other hard. At the tender age of eighteen we decided to get married and by nineteen we found out we were expecting our first baby. We had a little girl we named Phoebe. She had beautiful golden curls and my eyes... She was always so happy and was such a mommy's girl. We had everything we ever wanted but...there is no such things as happy endings.." He turned away trying to keep his emotions in check.
"What happened? I saw an older picture of your child. She looked the same as my child."
"She was...he took her from us and your son took her place.." Anger started to crept into his voice.
"I'm sorry..."
"I don't want to talk about it anymore, it's a very sore subject I rather not get into."
"So you did have love once."
"Yes, but like I said, there is no such thing as happy endings."
"I know. My heart just shattered after you told me about Jamie..."tears started to stream down her face.
"Hey, he wasn't worth it." He tipped her chin up and gazed down into her eyes.
"Do you like me?" She would ask as butterflies fluttered in her stomach. Something she hadn't felt in a long time.
He leaned down until his lips touched hers, kissing her passionately. After a few minutes he broke the kiss. He breathed hard as did she. She was in love with a vampire, something she never dreamed would happen to her.
