Daylight approached as the sun started peeking through the windows. Luna noticed but didn't say anything as to not cause anymore problems for herself.
"It's morning. Should get going to the next location." Atlas nudged Hannah after kissing her cheek.
Hannah started stretching while yawning, "Already..?"
He chuckled at her while scooting her from his lap to stand up. While she stood, he looked over toward Luna but didn't say anything. Hannah instead walked over and offered a hand. Luna just stared at her like she was weird.
"Good morning." She smiled.
"Why are you being nice to me? I thought you both hated me?"
"Nah, I was mad but I don't hate you. It's a new day!"
"Your offer chipper for having only an hour of sleep." She took the hand.
Her hand was very cold and boney which took Hannah by surprise. Luna stretched herself but yawned loudly. She was use to going to bed at this hour, not getting up.
"Well, I'm alive, your alive, and Atlas is alive! That's something to be happy about." She smiled.
"Must be nice..I'm sure other people think otherwise about my well being." She nodded toward Atlas who leaned against wall on the other side.
"You said some harsh words last night. It might be a bit but I'm sure you could get on his good side."
"Yeah, well if your smart you wouldn't like me either.." Luna sighed.
"I do like you. I was sixteen at one time too and I understand what it's like."
"Better go back to Atlas, he looks impatient." Luna messed with her boots in hope Hannah would walk away.
Taking the hint, Hannah walked back to Atlas.
"A brat isn't she. Nobody can stand her, not even Jamie and he's just as annoying."
"Actually she seems nice. She's sixteen, I'm sure if you were her age in this world of kill or be killed you would be a brat too."
"If you knew her like I do you wouldn't be saying that."
"Atlas, she's still a kid. Has anyone at all shown her guidance? Kindness? Or was it the complete opposite?"
"Rather not get into that."
"I want to know."
"Let's discuss this later...please?"
"Fine..." She sighed knowing she lost that battle.
They all gathered everything they would need and headed out knowing that all the vampires had retreated back home to rest. Luna yawned and was dragging herself to keep up. They soon stopped at a diner at the edge of town and headed inside. Atlas knew that Hannah needed to eat something and he had enough blood supply to last him and Luna for a bit. Seating themselves in a booth seat, Hannah grabbed a menu and started to look. Luna sat beside Hannah and laid her head on the table as drowsiness was getting the best of her.
"Something wrong?" Hannah asked noticing her.
"It's daytime, she's use to sleeping during this hour."
"Oh."
"Yeah...I feel like I can sleep for days..." She yawned.
"I think I'm going to get a slice of pizza. That sounds so good right now." She licked her lips.
"Oh, Luna? Would you like some of my supply?" Atlas would ask while taking out two blue bottles.
"You have supplements, not the real thing..." She tiredly would say without looking.
"It's better than starving."
"Fine..." She would drag herself into sitting position while taking the offered bottle. She uncorked it and took a big swig. She made an awful face but held in the red liquid while swallowing.
"Is it that bad?" Hannah questioned.
"You have no idea..." She coughed.
"She's use to the real stuff. You can tell by her eyes. The Reds mean they had fresh blood recently, I have yellow because it's been a long time since I had the real stuff myself. It is nasty but when you been drinking supplements or animal as long as I have, the taste doesn't really effect you anymore."
Luna took another swig which drained the bottle dry and swallowed. She held her throat as it burned going down. A young waitress came over. Her chocolate brown hair was held perfectly in a ponytail, she wore heavy makeup, and her top was too tight for her breast as two button where undone. Her blue eyes eyed Atlas flirtatiously but he payed no mind. Hannah noticed abs it took everything in her will power to not flip the table.
"What will it be?" She would ask.
"My girlfriend will have a slice of cheese pizza with a coke." Atlas ordered for Hannah when sensing the hostility.
"Alright, will that be it, darling?" She said in a disappointed tone.
Atlas nodded while having her the menus. She walked away with the menus toward the counter.
"We can't stay long. I can hear every pulse that's in this building. It's going to drive insane!" Luna whispered.
Hannah nodded understating.
"Fight it. As much as you run that mouth surely you can fight bloodlust."
Luna didn't say anything. After a few minutes the waitress returned with a plate of pizza and a cold glass of coke. She winked at Atlas who payed it no mind. She shrugged and pranced off but it was boiling Hannah's blood. She angrily ate her pizza and drank her coke until it was all gone.
"Don't get worked up. You know I have eyes only for you."
"Still disrespectful."
Atlas pulled out enough money to cover the bill but minus a tip since he felt she didn't exactly deserve one.
"Luna? Let's go."
Luna didn't budge. Atlas knew what was going on as he got ready. A vampire that's going through bloodlust was a ticking time bomb.
"Luna?" She nudged Luna's shoulder.
"Get away from her!" Atlas yelled at Hannah.
But before Hannah could react, Luna had tackled her to the ground. Her eyes were glowing red and her fangs drawn. She looked like a wild animal as she attacked her neck but Atlas had already pulled her off and thrown her across the room. It alerted the attention of the other people in the diner.
"I suggest you all leave, she's crazy!" Atlas would shout while helping Hannah up.
Everyone started to get up and run toward the exits but Luna was already up. She sensed the pulse of the waitress who was running toward the kitchen. But Luna was faster. She tackled her to the ground as the waitress screamed in terror. Luna attacked her neck savagely and started to drain her of blood. Once finished she started to moved toward the kitchen after the two men inside but Atlas had her pinned to the wall. He knocked her out with a punch to the face which left a huge bruise and bloody nose. She went limp in his arms. He sighed at the body of the now dead waitress and leaped over the counter. He grabbed Hannah's hand and lead her out the door.
